Dogs require a shitload of work and cats done. Easy choice.

Kids require significantly more work than dogs, both are worth the work over cats. You are just lazy.

"What do you mean? My cat's litter box never smells.", says the person who's used to smelling cat shite/piss 24/7. I don't care how often you clean it, I can still smell that funky assed thing!

This. Why do cat people believe it is acceptable to have an open box of shite in their home? What is so magical about cat shite that just having a box full of it in your home is considered OK?

The cat urine smell is beyond disgusting as well. Once it starts, you need to burn the house. Oh, and cat people, I have news for you: that odor gets on your clothes. Yes, others smell it. It is nauseating.

Dogs are infinitely more interesting, fun, loveable, and worth it than any other domesticated pet.

How do people decide they want a cat vs a dog? I’ll never get that

I much prefer dogs to cats, but cats are generally more useful (not compared to police dogs, hunting dogs, etc) and far less of a commitment, so I can see people choosing them.

My dog doesn’t hunt or crime fight, but he’s more useful than any cat. He’s as sweet as a dog can be (goldendoodle), but his bark sounds like a pissed off giant anytime someone knocks on the door or walks on our property and he hears it. He is also very alert at night to noises going on outside. Often he’ll start growling while laying at the foot of our bed and then my Ring camera will pick up someone walking on the sidewalk in front of the house. It’s crazy how good his hearing is.

I don’t have any use for a pet cat. We don’t have any rodent issues.

Not to mention the therapy that guy gives us when we've had shitty days or my pregnant wife doesn't feel well . Nothing makes you feel better than getting home and having him freak out to see you, then lay with his head on your lap on the couch.

I miss my dog. I wish I hadn’t neglected her after the kids started being born. Not that I mistreated her, just didn’t treat her as well as I should have.

Why can't dog and cat people just live in harmony?
