A lot of “opportunity” is being taken advantage of at our refinery. TAR may not even be needed and more of a pit stop may take place

The port Allen terminal has gone to all gasoline for the foreseeable future.

I am well aware. I’m talking about the logistics that go into it.

The problem is everybody has a generator. People are running a few fans and aTV on giant generators that are eating gas. Bottom line..too many people have generators now. Everyone now stays because they have super inefficient cheap generators. People are running them 24 hours a day. Go to work. Turn it off when you wake up and back on when you get home.

ETA. Sorry for the rant. I haven’t waited in a gas line yet because I prepared. I need to work and if this keeps up will have to get in line in a few days.

I personally don't run mine 24/7 and only use for 2 fans and small window unit (at night) and 1 big fan and fridge during day.

But we've got a heat index of over 100°, I understand why people run them a lot.

Why did you stay if you aren’t working?

Why do you assume I'm not working?

This is a quality rant dude. Good sense and concise. I haven’t waited in line either. However the discussions did point me towards investing in a modern generator. Inverter or natural gas. Well worth the cost I think. I may buy both.

I will never understand why the .gov just doesn’t bring in tankers for first responders. They can fuel vehicles using gravity…. I ask don’t understand why private companies don’t bring them in for their large workforce’s and to sell. My wife’s company has a deal and they are getting us gas overnight after the gas stations they have a deal with close, it’s been nice.

Say we dig a really big freakin' hole...

This is going to lead to people keeping a large volume of gasoline in a trash can or something stupid like that. Then something like a bbq, fireworks, or static electricity is gonna cause that thing to go off like a bomb, kill a few family members and burn down their house and probably their neighbors.

Dude, be willing.to drive and you'll find it. I haven't had a problem the last 2 mornings. You could head to Gulfport and probably find a bunch. I'm finding ample gas in East Feliciana. Yes, I'm driving from Madisonville,

You present yourself on here as a survivor. I guess not.

Do I really need to say digging a big hole and putting gasoline in it is actually a terrible idea?

6 refineries in SE LA are down. I was in Valero St Charles today and let me tell you, that plant won’t be operational for months. Parts still have 2 plus feet of water in them.

Even if you are running your whole house most people, the ones with any sense, are just running fans and fridge/freezers. And most are cycling even then.

Fridge, freezer, and sewage treatment system. One hour on, 2 hours off. Run it a little longer before going to bed and after waking up because we don’t run it while we sleep.

Yesterday morning a guy just like this emptied the damn gas station one car until I got to the pump. I’d like to think maybe he was pooling gas for a few people, but you never know.
