Being a germaphobe, I've used Dial anti-bacterial hand soap religiously for years (there's a difference between soap and anti-bacterial soap, in case you didn't know). My wife is pregnant right now so we're trying to be extra clean from a sanitary stand point to avoid any issues there.

Well I started making our weekly grocery list today and noticed everyone around me is out of anti-bacterial soap right now and had to resort to buying bulk from Amazon. Even on Amazon, 9/10 of those types of items are out of stock and I had to search for 20 minutes before I found fricking hand and bar anti-bacterial soap that wasn't $100!

This shite is out of control. Have people NOT been using anti-bacterial soap to wash their hands and shower/bathe with all this time or something??? That's fricking gross.

My brother is a sales rep for GermX. He said, at this pace he will break 800k in commission alone.

ETA: he already hit his year end quota

so you're doing what every other person in panic is doing yet blaming everyone else cause you got the "my wife is pregnant" card.

Narrator: There's no difference

Ok, for the naysayers

The United States FDA: "there's no difference."

He’s lying and embellishing for attention. Don’t give it to him and maybe he will leave.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there isn’t enough science to show that over-the-counter (OTC) antibacterial soaps are better at preventing illness than washing with plain soap and water. To date, the benefits of using antibacterial hand soap haven’t been proven. In addition, the wide use of these products over a long time has raised the question of potential negative effects on your health.

The FDA says otherwise.

He said it’s unknown. They are selling as fast as they can produce. It depends on the virus/hype ... their production capacity is already at 100%.

Doctors say "frick the FDA" then because every doctor I've spoke with, regarding my son's staph infection a while back, said to never use soap that wasn't labeled as "anti-bacterial".

Sorry FDA but I'm going with the doctors on this one.

Anti-bacterial soap does not kill viruses . . . if it did it would be anti-viral soap.

It is no better than regular soap.

Add to the fact that it is probably damaging to your health and the environment to be using anti-bacterial soap.
