You don’t understand how much money these individuals can pull in just by playing games.

Just googling net worth, and he is estimated at ~$5.5 million at age 23.

He supposedly pulls in ~$280,000 a year just from ads on YouTube.

No mention of Twitch, which Scruffy is Sure he uses to stream and makes money there as well.

The “Lebron James” of video gamers currently makes $500,000 per month.

It’s nuts.

Worst case scenario for the guy in the OP is that he is like a lower tier NBA player.

He’ll leave the league a millionaire.

the same could be said for plenty of occupations. the world is changing...plenty of people now make damn good livings playing video games. when that shite ends he might have a pretty fat savings account to go to school on or he's already been. I work with a guy who does that twitch stuff a few times a week and he makes 4 or 5 hundred a month off of ads and sales and shite like that. he's saving it for his honeymoon

And it will continue to change. This will also change. Enjoy, but might want to have a backup plan in place, because it’s about the most expendable skill set I can think of.

He is worth an estimated $5.5M

I'm guessing his plan at 23 has been better than your plan for all of life.

You need to go ahead and put that shovel down. You really.are out of your topical element on this one.

What with her taking selfies all day and him playing video games all day, they probably weren’t getting a lot of smash time in anyway

5.5 million dollars for playing video games and no other skills to speak of, including money management. He is going to blow through that so fast it’s going to make his head spin, and then what? When he’s 43 and a prospective employer asks what his life skills are, and what he’s been doing for the past twenty years or so, he can wow him with his gamer skills.

But that’s ok. My generation is stupid. You’ve got it all figured out.

I can think of a few. For instance, dribbling and shooting a basketball.

At least there's a good chance this guy has an IQ above room temperature.

They’re both Mexicans so it’s probably 3 million pesos which is about $75

he dumped a very hot woman to focus on his work. Sounds like he has money priorities in a better place than most

assumption based in nothing. Sounds like you are being an ageist.

value of gaming industry more than doubled from $10B in 2004 to close to $24B in 2017. It is safe to say that opportunity for carryover skills exist in an industry this large.

he's 23

99.9% of 23 year olds don't have that wealth and they have all the same issues you're referencing. most don't have his brain, either

this is about professional video game players. not NBA players

you do know that his money isn't earned by playing video games, right? it's based on media production

his real skill is being an expert on monetizing social media. you don't think that's a valuable skill in today's economy?

You’re making all of this up to placate your jealousy.

His skills are building, promoting and managing a successful business.

Probably more than you can say for yourself.
