I envy you. I’m leaning to wanting to leave but it’d take a career change in my early 40s. I don’t know what I’d do for a job.

Do you work for a plant or something tied to the area? I'm 43 and not worried about potentially changing jobs but my industry exists pretty much everywhere

Yep. Pigeon holed myself here. It’s my own fault, I guess. That and taking my kids away from my parents are the two biggest hurdles holding me here. If it weren’t for that, I’d have my house up for sale right now.

I understand completely. My wife's career used to be tied to BR but not anymore. I also have a kid about to start HS, a parent who is single, in his mid 70s and has major health issues, a young family member currently living with us who was impacted by all of the Covid crap and about 40k in house repairs and updating to complete.
