Plumbing is a sure way to make a good living. But seems like a wasted talent with all that potential.

People who own plumbing companies are some of the wealthiest people I know. I was at a plumber’s house the other day that blows away any doctor, lawyer, etc. I know and is worth probably $2,000,000+. I don’t understand why people act like there’s nobility in wasting your life away working some crap “prestigious” job like engineering where you make $90,000-150,000 and never live a truly comfortable life. I’m taking the big money all day long if I’m that kid

UGA or Florida instead of auburn

This year our HS had kids get into UGA and get denied by Auburn. Seriously.

The last 2 classes at AU, since common app have changed. So much so, I'm worried my youngest will have to go to UGA.

[quote]school is boring to him[/quote

I hope the kid realizes that working for a living can be pretty boring too. Personally, I find working with a smart electrician or plumber who solves problems I can't and knows the latest technologies that I don't is one of the best parts of home ownership.

What a waste. And you will see this continue as so to speak “conservatives” push on everybody that they don’t need to be in school and it’s a waste of time and it will make you a communist. You can’t win the information war if you are a bunch of plumbers and electricians while the left is running any non-blue collar industry. I wonder how the left took over our schools? This will only get worse unless y’all snap out of it.

Does running a plumbing business seem like fun to you?

If it’s not for the money then WTF is it for?

I went to school with a lot of rich fricks and a lot of their dads basically told me that I should enjoy my youth and they would give anything for 1 more summer (only 1) before they had to start work. These dudes are miserable as hell.

then just scored a 1380 on the SAT this year.

i scored a 1300, i read a ton in high school, and i am about as average as average can be. 1380 is a decent score, but it's nothing that special.

If you’re near the border tell him to get into imports and exports…

It can be a total crapshoot at either school. Know a kid with 4.0+ GPA, 1400 SAT, 13 APs (4 or greater on all he’s tested for so far) that got denied by UGA. Know another with a 3.7, 1250, 4 APs (only one 4) who got in.

Smart kid right there!

So long as the kid knows how to run a business, then he should be good. Otherwise, go to a community college and get an associates in Business Admin and then off the the races.
