Travel. Still love it, but it used to be so much easier. Back in the day we’d just throw our junk in a couple of backpacks and take off without a care. Nowadays the checklist is so long…so many house things to take care of, pet care to arrange, family back home to worry about, harder to get time off from work, everything is more expensive. It takes a lot of the fun out of the experience because of the responsibilities back home and the expense of it all.

New construction homes

I think I just prefer the style in which older homes were built

I wouldn't say I like people less, I am just a lot more intolerant to people's BS.

I like the people I like, but don't need to introduce anyone new to my life.

Other than that, being cold. I can't take it anymore. Once my son graduates high school, I'm leaving the TN mountains for someplace warm year round.

sports started 20 years ago when ESPN went woke. Finalized when NFL and college players kneeled for the national anthem.

large venue live music I saw Tool a few years ago in a large arena. Sounded like shite, way too loud, bunch of freakywoke people tripping balls and noone could smoke herb.

bar hopping I only drink at home, no DWI checkpoints for me.

clutter Spent many years collecting and buying stuff. Now I envy the minimalist lifestyle.

sports drinks I used to love gatoraid, red bull ect..... Now I realize these are full of sugar and chemicals.

Hunting and fishing, I used to live to hunt and fish, it just isn’t as appealing to me anymore.

The Holiday Season

I like the holiday season, but am totally over the gift-centric stuff.

Two years ago, my family switched to going out to a nice dinner 5-7 days before Christmas and that's just our "gift". Dinner together somewhere nice.

Now that our parents are retired and we've been lucky to achieve great success in our careers, none of us are in a position to need gifts from the other. Our parents used to give us money on Christmas, which would be insane these days since they're retired and we are doing well.

So, they buy a nice dinner. It makes them happy, it makes us happy they're not spending, and sometimes brother and I will sneak them a nice gift to open once they're home.

Long road trips. I used to love driving to my destinations, not so much anymore.

Agreed, but I think it has more to do with the congested mess of traffic and construction that’s impossible to escape.

You used to be able to hit stretches of open roads, but not anymore.
