End the fricking thread here. No other answer tops this one.

I tear up and get short of breath at the thought of it.

So he would have been both quadriplegic and had Huntington’s disease if he had survived his suicide attempt?

Jesus Christ. I can’t imagine anything worse than that.

If I have a terminal disease, let's take one last over the top trip, then I'll live it out until active dying, then please euthanize me.

PD. MS. ALS. Huntington’s. Dementia. Alzheimer’s. CP. DMD.

And a shite ton of other cognitive and motor diseases.

I’ll never understand those who choose to live with them or, bad as it may or may not seem, torturing kids with those disabilities.

That shite ain’t living. It’s surviving. And barely. Being trapped in my own body/mind is a special kind of hell imo and I never want to experience it.

Gimme the bullet first.

That’s a good point. Though, I don’t think the chance of survival from that bridge is too great.

If they’re even functional enough that they can attempt suicide (which many of them aren’t), they might be scared of surviving the suicide attempt and becoming worse than ever. Have you ever seen pictures of people who have survived shotgun blasts to the head? They look beyond hideous and lose their nose and sometimes even their eyes. (Surviving a shotgun blast to the head is another thing that I’d prefer death over.)

I have a buddy who we suspect has Huntingtons based on family history. We haven’t spoken to him in years and he’s still alive. His brother had the same disease and disappeared too.

Same. I tell everybody, I start speaking incoherently or confusing the dog for my wife...just put me in my boat with my favorite rod/reel and point me in the right direction. I'll take care of the rest. I can't stand the thought of my kids seeing me "weak" or causing stress to my family. I fix it, not cause it.

I’m surprised more people don’t kill themselves instead of going to prison for long sentences.

Married to someone just to say you’re married, so that society doesn’t think you’re a huge loser

I read a story a while back where a baw with terminal cancer threw a party for all of his friends at a marina. At the end of it he said goodbye and sailed off in a stocked sailboat. Never saw him again. IDK if true or not but was a pretty good story.

Someone posted on a reddit keto forum that she went from a size 22 to a size 8, then back to a size 22, all in the span of a year. Losing & regaining that much weight in a matter of months might make me want to die.
