How does that show that it was dumb? Before the civil war was slavery. Can't blame them for moving away from that association.
The progressive mindset is a disease and I will never understand how a sane and rational adult can ever view things through this prism as a default.
So here, I’ll put the pieces together for you child.
Just because a word is associated with an unfortunate event that happened over a century again, it does not mean that anything named after that is an endorsement of it. By you saying “cant blame them for moving away from it” is inferring that there is malicious and racist intent behind it just because there was a racial event at that time period. You’re trying to connect dots to something that isnt there. It’s setting a precedent that anytime the word “antebellum” is being used it is with racial intent which is simply false.
This is the exact same argument as removing statues which is also completely asinine. Contrary to the progressive liberal mindset, history does exist, regardless of how painful it is.

I have never owned a vehicle where it wasn't on the driver's side.
Many cars used to have the gas port behind the license plate.
My friend's dad had a 56 Lincoln Mark II that had the fuel port behind the right tail light. We used to love to take it to a full service station and watch the attendant try to find it. One, almost pulled the license plate off before we told him where it was.

Someone on here posted that the gas indicator display on your vehicle has an arrow next to it indicating which side of your car the access panel is on.
I noticed that when I bought my car a year ago. I was so amazed at this "brand new feature". Then my brother said most cars have had this for years. Now im wondering if my previous 3 cars had this and I just never noticed...

It was just a few years ago that I learned there were cardboard punch-ins on the side of reynolds wrap box to secure the roll of foil in the box as you pull off a piece.

Saw a video of a lady who saves her butter wrappers and uses them as pan liners for baking. Cool idea if you have the time and space.

IIRC, it was the rental car fleets that first started asking for this feature on the cars that they bought from the manufacturers. Makes sense...customers renting car models they've never driven before so they weren't sure what side of the car the gas cap is on.
I have an 11 year old & 20 year old vehicle and they definitely don't have this feature. So it has definitely been in the last few years that it has become more mainstream.

Did you know that every roll of foil, paper, plastic wrap has tabs that you punch in on the box to keep the roll from falling out?

I learned a couple of weeks ago that that scratchy sound at the beginning of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" and Jimi Hendrix "All Along the Watchtower" was made by an instrument called a vibraslap.

I wonder if that works... the wrappers seem slightly waxy.
My grandma always kept the empty ones in her fridge to grease pans with.
