I never thought about why a sink is called a sink until I was past 30.

I'll really blow your mind.

I was listening to a book about Ulysses S Grant a few months ago on my commute when it hit me.

I had no idea "Uncle Sam" was from U.S. shite you not. I thought it was some made up ole man mascot for recruiting. Never put U and S together until I was 45 whole years old. I laughed at myself.

Some things go unnoticed by smart people. I make Facebook posts on occasion called "Dumb arse Confessions". This was one.

After 30, didn’t realize why Wednesday is called Hump Day. I just thought hey, we’re calling Wednesday Hump Day now? Fine by me. Never thought about it.

Can you blame them? The result of decades of homophobia is Cinderella now has a Fabulous Godmother.

Not a recent discovery, but I was in my 40s before I gave much thought to the origin of geographic areas or street names. For example Highland got its name because it was higher ground relative to the area around it. I’m a slow learner.

Where did this nonsense start, and why do people still believe it?

ETA: This is only true for non-stick foil, which has its own labeling.

People have become really bad at insults... the whole cuck insult movement is kind of sad. I don't understand it.

That's not unusual for people not from Baton Rouge.
Did you know that "valley" to the west/Southwest of Highland Road use to be the Mississippi River bed?

Someone on here posted that the gas indicator display on your vehicle has an arrow next to it indicating which side of your car the access panel is on.

Went with a friend to SoCal today bc she was picking up a puppy. I drove back in her new jeep truck so she could chill with the dog and bond. We had to get gas and I’m pulling in and she’s like ‘crap I don’t remember what side the gas is on’ and I just pointed to the dash and said it’s on the left. She’s 49 years old and had no clue.

48 years old and I just learned something. Up until your post, I was thinking I knew everything.
