That sign also applies to Lake Charles as well.

If you like music touring Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium might be fun

I would second this suggestion. This was the home of the Louisiana Hayride radio and TV show. Elvis performed there early in his career. Even if you don't go inside, the buildings art deco architecture is worth a drive by. The building dates back to the 1920's and has an inscription on the front dedicated to the memory of those who served in the "World War". Pretty cool.

Not sure if posted but the museum at Barksdale is pretty cool. They have a B-47 and an Avro Vulcan on display. Not many of those left.

Shreveport is a terrible crime ridden dump and you shouldn't come

You can literally insert 95% of towns in the state and that’s still true. Rural Louisiana is beautiful, any town or city in Louisiana, not so much.

Your 4 teenagers will hate you even more than they do now if you bring them to Shreveport for 3 days.

Go to the Barksdale museum it’ll only take 2 hrs and it’s hot as frick so go in the morning. Go to Flying Heart in Bossier for lunch.

Speaking of Bossier, go to the Boardwalk or downtown Bossier to watch the fireworks. Much less crowded than Shreveport and just as good as a view.

Gators and friends, Waterworks museum, aquarium, and Norton Art Gallery are decent visits. You have to schedule a tour for the municipal auditorium through the tourist bureau.

Tomorrow, catch the races at LA downs. The Boardwalk is a ghost town but it’ll be busier this time of year. It’s still a good place to kill a couple of hours or more depending if you go to the movies.

Stay east of I-49

And the best beer flying heart has on tap comes from the other two breweries in the area.

Red river would be a better choice IMO....it's a shame great raft doesn't have a more fun tap room

Get everybody’s lazy arse up early tomorrow morning and go do the Firecracker 5K. Starts in the parking lot behind Sears at Mall St. Vincent. Should be well over 3K participating.
