Will be in Shreveport for the next 3 days with the wife and 4 teenagers. Anyone have suggestions for things to do? We will be doing the fireworks and wherever else is downtown on the 4th. I'm sure we will hit the boardwalk. Are there any good museums or such that we should hit?

Louisiana state exhibit museum by the Fair. My favorite one growing up.

Car museum downtown is cool. Sciport too

I hear the boardwalk is a ghost town now. Haven’t been in years.

It's definitely seen better days but it's still a place to walk around

If you like music touring Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium might be fun. Not sure if there's a museum in it or not.

The buffet at Margaritaville is really good. Go for lunch, it's cheaper.

Downtown Aquarium
Norton Art Gallery
Gators and friends just over the state line in texas
Boardwalk is basically Bass Pro, movie theater and some restaurants now. Hooters, Copeland's cheesecake bistro, Fuddruckers, and Saltgrass. There is an arcade at the boardwalk that is cool for the kids.

I know, I’m in denial.

If you’re talking about stuff downtown or near it, they opened up an aquarium near the river. The Robinson film center is pretty cool too, we like to eat at Abby Singers and go catch a flick every now and then. They say Red River Brewing is awesome. Like cool games and fun shite for kids to do. I haven’t been yet, but have been wanting to. It’s pretty close to downtown as well.
