Check out McEwens downtown for dinner. Cool atmosphere and great food. My wife and I ate there a few weeks ago and loved it.

We also had fun just parking our arse at this bar and people watched. Go up on the patio on the 2nd floor, get shitfaced and watch all of the idiots walk by. The park across the street has some good music every once in a while when there's not blatant drug deals going down.

My family has always lived in Memphis, but not once have I been to Graceland

I grew up 15 minutes away from Graceland, and I've never set sight on it. No desire to go there. No way it can top Graceland Too, which I became a lifetime member before the owner kicked the bucket.

We went to Graceland because let's face it, I won't probably ever go to Memphis again. It was pretty interesting seeing how they lived and where a lot of rock and roll history happened. The room with all of the gold, platinum, etc records was pretty impressive.

Check out The Beauty Shop in Midtown for a unique and eclectic dining experience. Took my wife for a date and we both absolutely loved it. The chicken wing appetizer was delicious.

I love midtown. Overton Square and Cooper Young have really stepped up their game.

Restaurant Iris is pretty legit too. Chef English trained under John Besh in New Orleans. Highly recommend.

Need to make reservations about 6 weeks in advance at Iris if you are wanting to go on a weekend or even if you want to go at a decent time on a week night. English's other places are easier to get into, Second Line is next door to Iris in Midtown and his other spot is in downtown behind Ernestine and Hazel's, can't remember the name right now but it's basically high end bar food. If you go out downtown one night, do yourself a favor and go to Ernestine and Hazel's late night and get a Soul Burger

With southwest going to Memphis now, it is easy and cheap. Went a few weeks ago and am flying in another weekend late august. Free place to stay on mud island too. Love going

We went there over Memorial Day weekend. Here's a thread I did.

Hogs and Hominy was GREAT.
Bardog is a good downtown bar.
If the Tennessee Brewery Revival is open, drop in for some local beer.

Good list, I'll add the Free Concert Series at Levitt Shell. It doesn't matter who is playing, it's always a good crowd. Plan to check out Overton Square either before or after for a happening resturant/bar scene.
