Husk is good shite completely forgot about them. If you are really craving BBQ don’t mess with that overpriced mediocre city bbq. Go out to the country. Sweatman’s BBQ in Holly Hill or Duke’s in Ridgeville.

Went there last time I was in town (with the old GF). It was really good.

I'm not a huge whole hog fan, so we're gonna do Lewis, and won't have a car to head out to the countryside.

why would you want to see a restaurant instead of dine at it?

Ghost tour. City has a rich, haunted history.

Sumter, The Huntley, Patriot’s point and all they have, Dayton Hall, The Citadel. Lots of historic buildings downtown.

Just got back yesterday, and we did some work down there over 4 days and 3 nights.

Food and drinks at:
- 167 Raw Bar (x2)
- The Darling
- SNOB
- Magnolias
- Husk
- Leon's
- Edmund's Oast
- Bay St Biergarden
- Callie's Hot Little Biscuit

Actually had fried chicken at Husk, Edmund's, and Leon's all on the same day (Leon's was the best). Had many oysters and many old fashioneds.

Had drinks at:
- Bourbon and Bubbles
- O Bar
- Our hotel (Emeline)

Activities included:
- Carriage ride, got the South of Broad neighborhood, which was awesome
- Fort Sumter (froze our asses off)
- City Market
- Walking the city checking out the architecture, parks, waterfront, and generally just exploring

Real estate research gonna be picking up steam here.

Anyone who believes that is doing it wrong. And I'd be curious to know what city is awesome in your opinion.

I went to a wedding there a couple of months ago. Safe city to walk around. Good beer, food, and lots of historical stuff. Really enjoyed it. Just googled historical stuff and walked to it. Great vibe

His downtown shop is a rip off, that’s all I’m saying.

Charleston BBQ is a joke compared to the rest of SC. That includes Scotts (Charleston location).

City wise? Yes, but once Bessinger’s in Orangeburg closed up, Sweatman’s became the GOAT.

Love the city, but it's filled with insufferable and self-important people. Charlestonians are the closest thing in this part of the country to self-absorbed New Yorkers. They think life doesn't exist outside of the peninsula. It used to not be like that when I was younger but it's gotten worse and worse. Now we just stop at TW Graham & Co. in McClellanville for seafood.

Find a restaurant with soft shell crabs. Get a happy ending at the massage place. Go to Beaufort and find the ghost stairs.

I grew up in Mt. Pleasant but have lived downtown since college. You are 100 percent correct. I even find myself looking down on Mt. Pleasant locals now from the ivory tower of 29401.
