If you're trying to pick up hot 21-30 tail and not afraid to spend $$$ on drinks, go to Tia's on the Waterfront.

For a great view, go to the bar at the top of Prudential building. I've never eaten there so couldn't comment on the food.

For a casual seafood dinner, go to the Barking Crab. It's a floating restaurant downtown near South Station.

Sox game if they are playing, Fenway tour if they are not.

ETA: just saw that you are staYing near MIT, go check out the Mead Hall if you are into trying new beers.

I lived there for 2 years and the only recommendations I have are drinking establishments. :sadbanana:

I am in Boston every weekend this year since my wife is doing her fellowship at Mass General.

I recommend doing the Freedom
Trail and seeing the USS Constitution. Although the USS Constitution is a bit of a hike. Also, you want to check out Harvard and MIT.

Consider kayaking in the Charles River. I did my first sailing class today and capsized a boat while getting into. Splash into the Hudson.

As far as food goes, check out Stephanie's on Newbury, Rabias in the North End and Grill 23. For dessert, you have to go to Mike's in the North End. They have the best cannolis and black and white cookies.

Boston is very walkable. If you need to get around then uber it. It is cheap and the rides are 25% off right now.

Also
Check out the waterfront.

For live music check out the cantab lounge in Cambridge. It's a dive but a good time. FYI, they only take cash.

Other than that, might want to talk to the hotel staff. This is only my fourth weekend in Boston so I am still exploring.

Like I said, I am here almost every weekend until next July.

ETA: there is always some crazy Italian festival in the North End on the weekends. It gets a little lively

Sorry I'm just seeing this. There are parts of the Charles that would be ok to swim, but most of it you aren't allowed or the traffic is way too busy to swim it.

And you're welcome. Always happy to help people enjoy their time here.

Normally this is good advice, but they have major construction going on right next door at the moment and it's loud and dirty there right now.

We really enjoyed the Freedom Trail ... also did the Duck Tours. Thought it was great and I was glad to SIT after that walking tour. The Freedom Trail will hit I think most of the high points. We also caught a Red Sox game .. we were there only for a day and a half as we'd been to Cape Cod for a wedding and spent time there and at Provincetown. THAT was interesting.

If you're looking for touristy stuff, there's a good walking tour (the Freedom Trail). It starts in Boston Commons. Make sure to get your tickets on the internet -- it's sort of a clusterf*ck in the park if you don't. The trolly or the Duck tour are also good. You can also get a subway ride to Fenway from just about anywhere.
