My ex wife was annoyed by the opposite. I have three brothers with very common names. We all know several people with these names. So I always say "my brother..." and she would get annoyed by that

Agreed. I piss my wife off by singing the Muppet version every time it comes on the radio. (I make sure to do Animal's part - "Mama.... Mama! Mama! Mama! Mama!" with as much feeling as possible.)

You're not alone...I HATE this...especially bad when show is all dialog and you have to turn it way up to hear...then commercial is blaring.
