On the other hand, I just can't get behind a generalized standard of non-compliance=justified shooting. Part of that is because I want to protect cops, and I don't want to see them put in shitty situations where politics or questions about whether they feared serious harm/death place them in jeopardy. Better to avoid those situations in the first place, when possible.

I don't think they miss it. I think they're just programmed to immediately discount the police's side of the story. Police have been lying about their interactions with citizens for decades, and when the other party is dead and can't give their side it's easier for them to get away with it.

On social media, most people are as dumb as a bag of rocks. They aren't smart enough to have an agenda.
