Lets wait until that a-hole can launch a bomb to the US. Great plan. Strike while the iron is hot. Id volunteer, but Im too old.

Watching tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people, a good deal of them civilian, die is entertaining?

And I will admit it's not out of the realm of possibility that in the opening phase of a war Seoul would fall to the north or at least have a substantial amount of infiltrators enter the city. I just think it unlikely due to the barrier of the DMZ coupled with the topography north and east of Seoul would lead to bottlenecks and allow air power to destroy their mech forces in detail.
Very good points, sir. It does seem - while not exactly out of the realm of possibility - that Seoul may not fall. Now, my next question is this: Lets say, just for shite and giggles sake, that NK has armor/troops (including infiltrators/SF units from subs, etc) in place for such an invasion. Given the information you gave yesterday about US response (units involved), the question that remains is what kind of response time would our airpower need? I can't imagine that the necessary units and aircraft would be in place within an hour to stem an attack, especially if the troops/armor moved at the same time as the initially artillery volley. Let's add this - since this is all a what if scenario anyway - could infiltrators/subs make our runways unusable (in SK and Japan)? A couple of craters in each runway would end that real quick. A human wave attack (in the 10s of thousands) supported by arty and mech could take Seoul - given the infiltrators, etc., did their job, no?

RoK government sources are saying the North is moving in SCUD type missiles. Not sure if they plan to use them against the loud speakers or simply to test but if they use ballistic missiles it escalates the game to a new level.

NK would get slaughtered. Most of their weaponry couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and they damn sure don't have the money to keep up a sustained military campaign.
The little fat spoiled bully is doing what spoiled bullys do, flapping his gums trying to get his way. Let's just hope his latest tantrum doesn't get innocent people killed.

This. Our illustrious administration will give in to him.

To them, more than anything else, North Korea is a perfect buffer state. They'd view a united Korea as a massive threat so we cannot rule out the possibility that they'd resort to military action in order to grantee that threat never emerges.
if NK invades SK, then what is China going to do? go "oh we love this buffer so we're going to violate a bunch of international law and indirectly declare war on our biggest trading partner to expand that buffer!" ?
that line of thinking works if SK invades NK, which isn't going to happen, b/c SK, like China, doesn't want to deal with NK's population

i think every administration since the 70s has "given in" to NK when they act like they're declaring war

We don't have to worry about being involved until another president is elected. He would rather pull our troops out of South Korea than offend someone's sensibilities.

China won't do anything except covertly supply arms, that is until allied forces get too close to their border... But then again, it would provide the perfect cover for their craziness in the S China sea.

How would NK deploy whatever nuke they have? Have they miniaturized one enough to launch it on a missile?

They have, although, they can't reach the mainland US with a nuke from what I've read....

Might be time for a little shock and awe ... On strategic targets of course.

If you seriously think that NKs 2-1 advantage in numbers means anything you are delirious. Also the devastation to Seoul you predict is greatly overstated. Our air supremacy would completely diffuse the situation within two hours.

Within two hours, eh? So what happens if they somehow manage to crater our runways in SK and Japan?
