By that logic, if they ever build one south of the intracoastal they will build one of Gary Chouest painted Chouest Orange.
As far as Central Lafourche, I am pretty sure they could build one of Boysie Bollinger out of some reject steel or aluminum welds from a Coast Guard Cutter.

No one here will get me to believe this location needed a damn traffic circle. There was never any traffic build up before or wrecks.
firstly, there was traffic building up trying to get from canal northbound to jackson. And again, trying to get in that turning lane from GTPeltier was bad.
Seondly, God forbid a place do something trying to get ahead of future traffic. You know, like when they eventually tie Acadia to GTPeltier and continue it along the old rail road strip all the way through ridgefield and through to the Firemen's Fairgounds area.
Thibodaux is growing exponentially and anything that can be done to help with that is a blessing.
But yes, let's just never change. There were zero wrecks before cars were invented...

Looks like he is making a name for himself in not just the ambulance chasing attorney field.
He recently got two people off that were arrested for a cold case murder of a Golden Meadow woman in the 1980’s. He got the DA to drop the charges because all the supposed new evidence would not be enough to sway a grand jury.

Unless the circle is large, like the one in Alexandria, I've never seen the need for more than one lane.
This. Make it one lane with the simple rule/law that cars already in the circle have right of way over cars entering. It takes going thru a one lane circle once to get the hang of it.

I agree with you. Better signage is needed

Why not one lane and get off whenever you want?? Or hell make loopdie loops like Clark Griswold…..

You sound uptight and butt hurt. Did you help design this ridiculous “much needed” traffic circle?
lol, the couple times I’ve passed there I’ve NEVER seen traffic build up to get on Jackson st. There’s like 5 crack houses on south end of Jackson, no business so not much need to turn early. Any regular sized vehicle could turn at 7th on down to 1st (hwy 1) if needing to access hwy 1 or downtown area.
No one is getting me to believe that circle was needed.

A couple of times. Got it, so you have no frame of reference.

Made the same comment to MrsWafer (no pics) yesterday as we were driving through. Dude is pressing the bayou region hard.
And as for being like GM, looks like Matt has invested in multiple businesses as well.

Here in NORTH Louisiana we don't need those stupid directions to drive in a CIRCLE. It's the idiots in SOUTH Louisiana that do. This is why we keep getting shite governors and RINOS elected in this state. I swear Cajuns are dumber than a box of rocks.

Building another one here on HWY 171 and a major neighborhood artery running through to HWY 8.

As already stated by other in this thread -
No way was this needed. Canal had the right of way, Jackson had to yield and GTP had to stop. There were rarely any traffic back ups or accidents.

I don’t understand what the problem is for people who are anti traffic circle because canal being the main thoroughfare and claiming that there’s never any cross traffic. If that’s the case, fantastic, nothing changes for you. Just drive on through like nothing changed.
The only time cars on canal have to yield is if there’s a car going towards GTPeltier from canal northbound or a car going towards Jackson form canal southbound. But since you claim that’s never the case, roll on, eighteen wheeler, roll on.

because most people are really dumb. surprise surprise.
and then you have Louisianians who wear their ignorance like a badge of honor. combine that with the concept of a roundabout, and this is what you get.

The ones over in bossier are kinda awesome. Treat it like a 4 way yield and proceed accordingly. Traffic flows through easy. If Shreveport/Bossier can figure this out surely our south Louisiana friends can too.

Traffic circles are the best.
I think of about 20 places in New Orleans that could use them instead of lights or 6 way stop signs

One time I was driving in Germany and there was a massive traffic circle, it was at night in heavy traffic, and this thing had 3 lanes and multiple exits, I got stuck in the center most lane somehow and I could not get out to save my life. My wife was badgering me, it was dark, I was starting to panic because I was going in a circle for like 10 minutes. I laugh about it today but at the time I was freaking
