Anyone who drives US 90 between Morgan City and Lafayette knows that the Jeanerette marshalls aren't there to protect and serve- just write tickets.
It's getting to be a bad joke.
Business is picking up there. Now, they use 3 black suvs instead of 2. Wonder where the funds came to buy the third one??
And no, they didn't get me.

You might want to read about the last guy that messed with local marshals (this time in Marksville)- hint, they took something much more valuable than money from him.

I don't know but they definitely patrol Hwy 90 by the Jeanerette exit. Got my only speeding ticket ever right there a few years ago.

I got one there last summer for 75 in a 65, what I found odd was about 2 weeks after I got the ticket the town of Jeanerette sent me a letter stating that if I just paid a $120 fine they'd gladly wave my ticket and keep it off my record or I can attempt to fight the ticket, get it docked on my record and the fine went up. My assumption was they did this to keep the state from getting their cut.
