He's lucky they weren't members of the Breed Of Peace or he'd be Caitlyn Jenner today.

GSD are family and pack-oriented pets that are defensive of their family and property. Pitbulls are piece of trash fighting dogs

at least one other person was throwing stuff at the German Shepherds

I agree. As are most dogs.

Yep. As are quite a few other breeds.

While not fighting dogs, GSDs can be just as trashy and just as big of pieces of shite as any pit if it belongs to a trashy, shitty family.
ETA: And the result of their attacks can be just as devastating.

They are not remotely comparable.

Sounds exactly like a bunch of damn monkeys screaming

I beg to differ. I can tell you from personal experience that if you take a GSD and give it to a trashy family, bad shite can and does happen.
Ignoring it doesn't change that reality.
I am not saying they are worse than pits. I am saying they can be dangerous and they get ignored.

And yet, they aren't.
Pits account for more DEATHS than ALL dog breeds COMBINED.
Look, I can find a story about a lab attacking someone, but it would be an outlier. GSD are great dogs, and can be vicious, but they are not known for unprovoked attacks like the kings of the trailer park (pits).

In other words, trash have not bred German Shepherds as much as they have Pits. Trash breeding gives you a bigger trash breed.

I like how the OT hates on pitbulls (a hate which I agree with, btw), but has very little to say about German Shepherds. German Shepherds can be just as dangerous as a pit, and there are plenty of news stories to back it up. Hell, I know of two people who have had life-altering injuries from German Shepherds that attacked unprovoked. One of those jumped a fence around the owner's yard and attacked a kid who was running down the sidewalk. Mauled his head, ripped his ear off, and cause him to need multiple surgeries over several years.
I was doing a home inspection this summer and got attacked my a German shepherd. Dog came running around the side of the house with no warning, no barking and came after me. I got the owners to put it up and when I came around to the backyard it bust through the doggy door and came after me again. Of course they said hes a sweet boy and never done anything like that before.

GSD's can absolutely be as dangerous as pit bulls. Look at their roles as bite dogs in a working capacity but I think the big difference is that you can 100% attribute unprovoked attacks by GSD's to shitty owners. Whereas it's not uncommon for pitbulls that seem to be completely normal and docile to fly off the handle. If GSD's didn't have a stable temperament you wouldn't see the widespread use of them as working dogs like you do.

I was running in my neighborhood last Monday night. There’s a guy with a big old German Shepherd. Every time I run by there, the dog raises all kinds of hell behind his fence. He’s a good 50 yds off the road and I never antagonize the dog.
Well, this time I hear him raising hell as usual. However, I noticed the barking getting louder. I turned around to see the dog had jumped the fence and was barreling down on me. Not gonna lie, I almost peed myself. For whatever reason, he stopped in his yard and barked at me. I thanked God.
