There should be a law making it legal to kill a looter or property destroyer..

In counterpoint: Looters don't have a great track record without it.

ETA: Also, in Louisiana, you CAN use lethal force to protect your business, provided you are inside of it.

ETA2: You also are provided, by law, a presumption of reasonable belief that lethal force is necessary if 1) somebody is ACTUALLY unlawfully entering or has entered unlawfully. Belief is not enough; they actually have to have committed a crime while entering and 2) you have reason to believe they are unlawfully and forcefully entering or have unlawfully and forcefully entered. That AND is important.

A locked door and a B&E is all you need to put a looter down if you're in your place of business.

I believe if they attack your domicile you’d have a strong argument for personal safety but they’d have to break the barrier. So pretty much home invasion. Doesn’t help you but all ya got.

I think events in georgia have shown us the outcome of citizens trying to accurately judge correct procedure and use of force.

I just dont think creating more excuses for people to kill each other is a good way to fix this situation.

If somebody is breaking the window of my house with my family inside they are probably not going to like the outcome. They force the issue in that situation and the castle doctrine (la) allows you to protect yourself and your family. This isn’t a hard concept don’t commit property crimes and this never comes into play you buffoon.

Well stealing and breaking shite is certainly a crime but it's not one that's punishable by death

In the state of Alabama, if they come onto your property, unwanted, with anything that can be construed as a weapon, you can stack them up like cordwood. It does not have to be in your home.

It’d have to be egregious like brandishing a gun. I refuse to believe someone trespassing with a crow bar is shot, you won’t get prosecuted.

I’d check case law before you start slinging lead.
