The Amazon is wide as hell by the time it reaches Iquitos Peru, the first real city on the river. There's nothing on the other side aside from ecolodges and no reason to build a bridge. The only way to get to Iquitos is by air or a VERY long boat ride, so people don't travel through Iquitos by car. Below Iquitos the river just keeps getting wider.

No wonder traffic backs up so damn bad on the New Bridge. It looks like 50/50 split of people not realizing the Old Bridge still exists. I will continue to enjoy the Old Bridge why you fools sit in traffic.

I doubt the ferry captains could pass our Coast Guard regs much less prove they've earned their "six packs".

Let's be fair, I promise you thats a technicality that doesn't matter. I have feeling the original person who commented never has seen or even knew there was another bridge.

Driven acrossed it quite a few times.... Even saw it in The Toy...

Just slipped my mind like I said in a previous post...

That strikes me as one of the craziest facts in the world.

You obviously haven't seen the movie Anaconda if you think this is odd.

Once the loop is built, the bridge will follow.

Meanwhile, there is only one in Baton Rouge across the Mississippi...

He's right isn't he. It's the US 190 bridge. There isn't another is there?
