There are gorgeous parts of Baton Rouge, the exclusive neighborhoods of highland being one.

Slidell near the lake isn't bad. Have a house on one of those canals with a boat dock right behind the house to go fishing anytime. And its a shorter drive to 30-A

Slidell for this. I can have a boat in the water, go bar hoping and get to the Biloxi Marsh to fish. I can also get to OBA and Florida in under 3 hours. For the record, Slidell is shite hole.
