The war on cash. Noticing more and more places refusing to take cash.

Someone decided they needed my credit card more than me. Going into the holiday weekend.
I turn off cards to go and get new ones Tuesday. Even with plenty of cash I can't eat I can't do activities. I am limited in multiple places. I think any business that operates in the United States should be FORCED to take cash. It's legal tender for all debts public and private.

Why would anyone WANT to use cash?

Unless there's an extremely rare business that only charges extra for credit card transactions, why would any clear thinking individual choose to pay with cash?

Credit cards are simp!y better than cash in every way imaginable. A clear thinking individual actually spends LESS money using credit cards (due to points/rewards).

pretty soon it’ll be all digital and every single transaction we make will be monitored.

Soooooo….In some peoples view is this discriminatory? I mean not all people can get credit

How can the people with no id/no credit function?

Who doesn’t take cash? I think they are legally obligated to accept it.

Local Taco Bell, smoothie king center at last two concerts I went to.
I think it is a great way to keep employees from stealing cash from the business.

Went to Costco today. Decided to get the $1.50 special.
It's also card only. $1.50 on plastic

If you borrow money that you can’t pay back, then debit cards are a better fit. You can still go digital.

If you’re talking about homeless people, they seem to lead a scavenger lifestyle and have grown savvy to the “Sorry, I don’t carry cash”response. Now they ask for food instead of cash. When they are asking for cash, it’s often because their dealer is cash only.

So the trend toward going cashless may have an unintended benefit of making it more difficult for junkies to get drugs.
