You do know this is just your social conditioning from the anti-smoke / pro-ban propaganda days.
Whatever you say chief.

Smoking causes a number of other health issues besides cancer. Obesity is not entirely a behavior-based disorder. Shaming people with metabolic issues is cruel.
Look, I'm not into shaming anyone but that is exactly what was done to smoking in general. These people are addicts. Allowing this idea that over half this nation is obese because of genetic or matabolic flaw is worse than shaming. Go find a yearbook from 50-70 years ago and just try to find ONE obese individual. I grew up before fast food, super size portions, wide spread self medicating, and the biggest soft drink we had was 6 1/2 oz. . The ONE kid that was the "fat kid" in our school of 1,500 was undoubtedly genetically disposed, but he would barely even be chubby by today's standards. No one in this country is over 300lbs. solely because of metabolism. These are both, smoker and glutton, addicts. Just about every single "contestant" on that ridiculous show "The Biggest Loser" not only admitted they were in a bondage but said they also played the "genetic" card as an excuse...and could easily find doctors who would patronize and indulge this.. Every single one of those people responded to proper diet and exercise with huge losses of weight. Sadly, the majority also return to their addiction and gain it all back.... genetics? I don't think so. But shaming addicts who are smokers is OK but cruel for obese? Please don't make me laugh.

People are sheep and jump on the bandwagon. Smoking used to be cool, was deemed uncool, sheep follow trends.
I take offense to smokers throwing butts on the groung, the actual smoking doesn't bother me

I don’t care what people do. But I will say fat lips that touch tobacco shall never touch mine.

The worst is the obese smoker. At least use one crutch to avoid another.

I wish Sports Illustrated would read this thread. Normalizing fatties is not good on the eyes, or for the heart.

No man, I'll defer... It's an honor to meet someone who wasn't affected by the propaganda. You'd have told us that one day people are going to freak out if they are just in a building with a cigarette. I mean we knew not to smoke, we knew it caused cancer, but no one ever once thought that eating at the table, riding in a car, or going to public places with it was a problem... and turns out it still wouldn't be.. But you'd still have been that lone rebel that wouldn't go where everybody else went...just because you are your own man. You'd have seen right through all that false second-hand smoke stuff, huh? You would have been a real maverick by pointing out that every single store, mall, and business had smoke and you just weren't going in... No, there are no health problems, nope, none.. never were... you're just not gonna do it...
It's been an honor.

Your points are watered down by your snide remarks. If you want to argue no one has ever gotten cancer from second hand smoke, I feel like that's an argument that could possibly be made. But asthmatic kids in a car or home with a smoker absolutely are affected by second hand smoke. And potentially fatally so if it triggers a severe attack.
