How come 3 weeks ago I requested a cab from the Londoner and it never showed up after a World Cup game and ended up having to call a friend to come pick me up.

Then for the final game I used uber and it picked me up in 7 minutes.

I have ridden in a lot of cabs and never seen a name as simple as Dick Jones. Know it's not his real name but made me laugh.

Ever looked at his permit to see his real name is Richard Jones

So your the one that didn't answer. I picked up people from there all night. I knew it would be busy with world cup games. I picked up 6 trips from there. Like i said people call then go back to partying and don't hear their or feel their phones ringing.

Seems I had no problem hearing the Uber text to me.

Thanks a lot for not picking me up 3 weeks ago Dick. You blew it.

Here is an interesting fare comparison:

Average price to Logan Airport per Massport website $25-$45

My Uber price this morning: $14.70, of which $8.75 was a Massport surcharge.

ETA: Uber picked me up in 3 minutes after I hit the button.

14.70-uber 20%= 11.72
$11.72 - Uncle Sam = $7.85
$7.85 - 1 gal gas @$3.89 =3.96
The massport charge $8.75 has to be paid uber pays 50% which leaves driver with $4.36 to pay
so $3.96 - $4.36 = -$0.40.
SO that driver just lost money to bring you to the airport. But UBER made theirs along with uncle SAM twice when he bought the gas as well and massport making theirs. So is this what you want to welcome your friends to do.

or they can use the alternative that doesn't require this, is cheaper, and the cars don't smell like a urinal.

not blaming him. I for one will not hear or feel my phone in my pocket it is a honest mistake. To be honest we had 7 What we call waterhauls from there that day. Or in other words no shows.

That's the beauty of the free market. If the Uber drivers aren't making money, they will stop driving.

I've met MANY Uber drivers that have been doing it for over 2 years.

Don't care. Saved at least $11 to go to the airport.

ETA: The ride was less than 10 minutes so I am not sure why the driver used a gallon of gas.

With uber you won't have to. Just saying if you know what to expect with a service then you should take actions to make it better for yourself. Many people took those actions and had no problems
