Yup, this is from last night!

My wife takes a cab to work a few times a week.

Uber is always under $5. Cab is usually $9

A taxi van from around LSU would cost us over $30 each way to TigerLand. We took Uber XL with a huge group and it cost less than $10 to go a good bit further

Uber gets 20% of fares for doing absolutely nothing besides have an app. It's maybe the easiest money making scheme ever.

Well, they provide a platform, provide the customer service, do the background checks, and (most importantly) had the creativity and balls to execute on a brilliant idea.

If their model becomes outmoded, then a Lyft or Uber2.0 or someone else will come in and get 10% or 5% and undercut Uber.

Who wins? The customer.

Well either dispatch or the 2nd driver had a heart and I got a free ride except for a tip. The food truck was parked right outside chelseas not down the street. Just admit your company has a horrible business model and has been butt raping customers for years. Now when I lived in BR I had about 10 drivers in my phone and would tip good and could always get a cab within 30 min on a thurs night or have one on gamedays. However, i no longer have that phone and lost all my numbers and had to use dispatch and it sucked.

You probably won't have to spend all that money repairing those always-broken credit card machines, either.

This burns my arse every time I hear it.
gonna put this in bold to make sure everyone sees it.

EVERY YELLOW CAB DRIVER IN BATON ROUGE HAS TO TAKE CREDIT CARDS. IF THEY SAY ITS BROKE TELL THEM HANG ON LET ME CALL THE OFFICE. TELL WHOEVER ANWSERS THE PHONE THAT DRIVER SAID CC MACHINE IS BROKE. IF STAND TELLS YOU YES THEN THEY ARE DOWN BUT 99.9% OF THE TIME THEY WORK. SO WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT YOUR RIDE IS FREE AND THE DRIVER JUST SCREWED HIMSELF OVER!!!!!!!

Which is nothing besides some salaries. They throw people out there and say make us money. But we won't cover any of it for you.

The taxi problem in baton rouge as everyone claims that is prob 20% yellow cab fault and 80% public. I drive for yellow cab and let me tell ya I waste more time going to pick someone up who called for a cab but went back in the bar and didn't hear their phone ringing.

The reason that is they learned that good tips lead to being picked up a more sure thing.

You can yell all you want, IDGAF.

99.9 % of the cab rides I've been on (and I bet everyone here will agree), they are always broken.

"Call the office"? Yeah, right.

Using a credit card with yellow cab is hilarious. Such an antiquated system.

Quit having shady arse drivers that want to deal in all cash.

We are only allowed to carry 4 people due to state law. It is about $12 from crown plaza hotel to tigerland.

This jackass started off saying how Uber wasnt that good of a deal and how yellow cab is a easy rate scale.

Then turns around and said add a lot to your fare to guarantee I will come back next time.

What a freaking deal.

Last thing I wanna do when I get to my destination is hang out in the cab so I can call the office and wait to see if they confirm the CC machine is down or not in hopes of getting a free ride

So the customers should be well practiced in calling the yellow cab office every time a driver tries to frick them over? Because in case you're blind the top two BR yellow cab complaints are:

1. Wait time
2. Unable to use CC

Which is why we called for a van.

And it was over $30 to go from the Aster area to Freds. We did it multiple times a weekend. Could be a multiple hour wait

Seriously all this CC crap i keep hearing pisses me off. If you don't wanna call tell the driver to call on the radio and ask if credit card machines are down. Even if the CC machines are down we have CC slips to fill out and turn in so that the office can run when they are back up. I wasn't yelling in my post I wanted everyone to see it. Watch when you ask the driver to call in on the radio to ask about CC machines. I bet his all the sudden starts working.
