I have this sinking feeling (no pun intended) that this the beginning of something bad, like the proverbial butterfly wings starting a hurricane.
Or, if you prefer, like the beginning of Tom Clancy's Debt of Honor, where you wonder where is he going with a improperly galvanized gas tank?
No spoilers, read the book.

I bet Smit salvage does something like I am saying. They don’t have to remove any thing.
Give me some draglines, some D8 Caterpillars and a crew of GOM pipeline divers.
Dig a deep pond around the bow and stern leaving 20 feet of spoil between ship and pond.
The ship,s bow and stern are now sitting on a pinnacle of spoil. Wash out the spoil with the fire monitors n the service vessel there.
Or get some jet pumps on land and wash out what you can from the surface. Then throw the divers overboard and let them jet under the ship.
Those big tugs could do some wheel washing. Calls for some coonass boat skippers.
We used to use divers to blow out hole’s 30 feet deep to sandbag pipeline crossings routinely. I even suited up and jumped in the hole at night to see exactly what they were doing.
This calls for some Red Adair type action. I wish I could go over there and run the show.
I think they want to draw this shite out to so all of the powers to be can rake some cash
Give me the men and a ticket for the equipment and I would have it off in two- three days.
I guarantee my solution would work.

Just curious who would be taking in the cash because of this?

The salvors, the people that write the insurance, everyone on the right side is going to make bank.
,the Egyptians are going to throw a big bill at the owners insurer for fricking up their cash cow.
And don’t forget the crawfish cartel. They will get paid.

I follow what you're saying...I wonder if the 2 bow thrusters and stern thrusters would serve the same purpose as far as wheel washing...

On a conference call with the Suez Canal authority and they are requesting your contact info

Tell them I want to get paid in Zurich or Geneva. Gold ,diamonds and mix in some bitcoin.
I knew a guy from Houma that went into Iran when the Shah was deposed. Had to do an oilfield job and the USA would not allow it.
He went to Turkey, crossed into Afghanistan, dressed up in their clothes and rode one of those cows they ride around on over there in the mountains. Went into Iran did the job and got paid in gold in Switzerland.
We would ask him how much he made on the job and he would just chuckle to himself. People from Houma know who I am talking about. He was in the snubbing business and made several fortunes and kept them.
When they blew up Kuwait he was anxious to get ove4 there to see “ how big a hole a hundred thousand dollar bomb would blow n the sand”
He was a trip. His partner was a trip. And they made a bunch of money. Them two could dream of and fabricate anything.

Those tugs can pull a heck of a lot more than some D8’s

I've seen it suggested several times to offload containers to reduce the weight. The only thing is.....How?
Chopper.
US military is in the area. If they asked nicely they can have some Stallions and start lifting.

For sure.
The D8’s are not for pulling. They are to start digging the flotation pond around the bow and stern. You can push a lot of dirt quickly until you hit the water table.
Then the draglines and excavators take over. You also use them to push the spoil back because a dragline or long boom excavator can only throw a certain distance back.
You have also used the suction dredge to deepen the channel to receive the spoil that you are going to jet pump and wheel wash from under the ship.
How the Egyptians washed sand in 1973
The Egyptians already know how to wash sand. Read about the breach in 1973 it’s interesting and was a simple solutions that almost wiped out Israel.
I know exactly what I am talking about.

A couple rig killers from the gulf would have that ship empty and floating in no time.

Just get some tugs in there to straight it up.

Ok, I had posted this earlier but why not again? Can someone explain why it can't work?
I mean on top of that we could utilize some mechanical advantages all while blasting the sand with water at the grounded hull.

Wonder if it's a possibility to get a crew of 20 or so earth movers and pull from the other side. Sure, I know there's a lot logistically involved there, but at $10 billion a day, seems worth a shot.
