The best part is that we are just being polite when we tell them they are using their emotions. What we really mean is that they are being completely irrational and are unable to hold constructive conversations without resorting to just crying racism.
So, their reaction to being told they are being too emotional, which is code for "you're an idiot"? That's just your white privilege showing.

Holy shite on a shingle....that may have been the longest display of whining I've ever seen.
A lot of these people have advanced degrees. How can they be so stupid?
I know those ignorant fools won't ever read this, but...
1. These idiots are the epitome of two wrongs don't make a right.
2. Wanting someone to stop yelling at you is not equivalent to protecting some sort of privilege. These idiots are too stupid to recognize that many people aren't going to react well to being yelled at so they will want it to stop yet are willing to continue the conversation. I'd say they're damn lucky to get that much. Others will engage in the tone policing and so forth as rhetorical ploys. It's about power, not privilege. Whether it's for one conversation, or sweep an issue under the rug, or whatever - some use rhetorical ploys such as these to control the dialog, to exert power and control over what's happening. That does not imply any sort of privilege.
3. Whining about the abortion debate claiming they are marginalized bodies is some cracked out way of thinking - and so bitterly ironic, as they go about the mindless killing of the body inside them but refuse to see how they marginalize the human inside of them. To say their dialog lacks coherence and logical consistency is really too kind.
4. So many other points here, but last one: demanding to be heard, more correctly, demanding that others sit or stand still and take it while they get berated by another person, extends beyond a "microaggression" or a minor imposition - it's bullying. Oh, the irony with these mental midgets.

I completely agree that all this is taught. (Through Gov. funding I might add) Sad that we need to have cartoons to explain all of this.

I am not going to lie, in a year or two when all these groups are fighting each other for attention, it is going to be a blast to watch. It's already enjoyable to see the hardcore feminists and the extreme LGBT fringe groups go at it. I also like seeing Bill Mahr putting the SMACKDOWN on Ben Affleck.

quote:Exactly. They don't even realize that the person is indicating that they are willing to listen. They just don't want to be browbeaten. If the other side wants to keep yelling, and also wants to yell about their right to yell, the recipient can take the only good bit of advice from the cartoon. They can walk away.

I honestly love reading about shite like this. It tickles me.
Oh, excuse me, I mean it rapes me.

I first acknowledge the implied emotion and then like to point it out. Always catches them off guard. I am anti- police state, anti police abise, anti grammar police and certainly pro tone police.
I still love to tell my ex-wife, "Just calm down". She usually says "Don't tell me to calm down". I then say "Calm down."

I bet telling them, "Baby, calm down" will really up the ante.

What they're missing about reason vs. emotions: talking calmly about something that angers/frightens/etc. you is one thing. Yelling in my face about it is another.
But I'm just some pasty mayo-breath evil oppressor, so what do I know.
