No they absolutely will, because despite the phony Progressive critique, the American working man from Flyover Country sincerely wants to help his fellow Americans. We see that with every natural disaster in America. The average working man Joe will give you the shirt off his back when the chips are down.

Oh I’m not doubting that. I wholeheartedly agree.

My point is that there will be very little John Q. Workingman will be able to do if the whole schmeer falls off into the Pacific.

Yes, and will be in Washington not California. Seismologists say the max magnitude of a San Andreas quake is mid to high 8’s, which could be devastating but not apocalyptic. The Cascadia area has much higher potential

Doubt most Americans know what the San Andreas fault is.

At least they’ve got another 100 years...it’s about time for the New Madrid to demolish Memphis.

and California Memorial Stadium... home of the Cal Golden Bears... sits directly on top of the Hayward Fault

the fault line runs almost literally goalpost to goalpost

You may be right.
But East Coast Band thinks that the following is common knowledge:
quote:

The latest US Geological Survey (USGS) quake data estimates that 1906-type earthquakes occur at intervals of about every 200 years. This is based on the long-term rate of slip on the San Andreas fault and the amount of offset that occurred on the fault in 1906. However, the USGS believes there is only a two percent chance such an earthquake could occur in the next 30 years. And the real threat to the San Francisco Bay region in the coming decades comes not from a 1906-type Big One, but from smaller (approximately magnitude 7) earthquakes occurring on segments of the San Andreas fault, called the Hayward fault or Rodgers Creek fault.

That is the one natural event that I want no part of. Pretty much everything else you can either avoid, find shelter or prepare for it. You can’t do anything about an eartquake.

Give me an earthquake all day vs a tornado or hurricanrana. Yeah in tall buildings it would suck, but shite out in a open field with no trees around, ain't no fricking thang. Just lay on the ground and enjoy the free vibrating bed effect.

Lighten up, dogs, I knew it was close to SF. I have immense geographical knowledge, to go with my gigantic dick, but for some reason i thought the fault line was over by Oakland or Berkeley. Guess that's another one.

I will not cry for Nancy Pelosi when it hits. (If she's still alive)

The Big One hit San Fran in 1906. SoCal is now due for the next Big One.

The earthquakes going on now aren’t the product of the San Andreas.
