I've never been to Buc-ees, but I've heard people will leave their house just to go take a dump at Buc-ees because they're so nice. Are the new Racetracs on that level?

There is a very nice, new racetrac I pass on my way home from work. It's about 5 min before my house.

If I feel a nasty one coming down the pipe, I have, and would, stop there.

The Shell station in Tyler, Texas (which as great barbecue) is the best gas station.

Calling something "Chick Fil A" is no compliment.

We have two of the nice new ones in St. Bernard and it's pretty much the only place I buy gas.

But interestingly enough, since they opened, there has been a WalMart grocery open with a gas station, and only one very small 4 pump station has closed.

I would have thought they would have put some other stations out of business.

I stay at the Hampton Inn in West Monroe quite frequently for work so they know me by name when I walk in.

Same here. Even when I'm not staying usually grab a cup of coffee or bathroom pit stop.I like how the restrooms are in the middle and not close to the front desk. Also really good size, not the one hole set up..Hampton Alexandria, looking at you

I think people are way too excited about what is still a gas station,
it is food mart with clean bathrooms that also sells gas.

Whenever we travel and stop at Buc-ees, buying gas is almost an afterthought. Pretty much, it's like, Oh, I'm here, might as well top off the tank.

The Racetrac closest to my house has non-ethanol at every pump.

fricking winning. Easily 4 mpg better mileage and better performance.

Come stop by the Port Allen Racetrac and feel free to change your opinion. I gotta track through fricking chocolate syrup and sprinkles from the yogurt bar and the pump area is already covered in dip juice and kitty litter.

Never stayed at the one in Alexandria but I can agree with the ones that are right beside the front desk arent the best ones to do a drop and go.

They are taking the QUIKTRIP approach. QuikTrip is kicking their butt in their home town of Atlanta and everywhere else they go head to head in big cities. They just started remodeling lots of the Dallas stores.

T has better hotdog fixins, but racetrac has better hotdogs. If racetrac would step their topping game up, I'd never have a reason to go to QT.

QT has top tier gas. Race Trac does not. I'll go to Race Trac for a drink or something, but I'm not stopping there if I need gas.
