yes, it was such glorious times when my kids went into a recreational draft and i had no control over which daddy and psycho mother was going to be my kid's coach for a season that I had no idea who the teammates were, what their skill levels were going to be and no prior talk to how my child fit into the team/roster/ or development. Then we got to do the same thing 3 months later for the next season. Whole new coaching staff and roster for my kid that he had no idea who half of the numbnuts were before. Those times were so great.

I'm not a parent so I don't have to worry about this but I'm willing to bet that every single American born MLB player (including minor leagues)has played travel ball

And yet a majority of the players in MLB are from poor Hispanic countries. Obviously the travel ball thing ain’t working that great.

So playing baseball led to sex with girls and not being a homosexual?

Here's what no one will want to hear.

My daughter plays 10u open class competitive softball. Legit shite, girls are throwing 55-60 mph from 35 feet.

My son, made 6u rec all stars, we will spend an equal amount on all stars for 2 weeks that we did on my oldest daughters entire spring travel season.

People can certainly take the travel ball shite too far, but there is a TON of middle ground.

travel dance team
Get ready for $200 costumes and needing 4 or 5 a "review". Team leotards and robes for another $200, tee shirts for $50. And "lessens".
1 year was enough.

Saw mothers giving red bull to 7 year olds 10 minutes before the danced.

Yeah we have some friends whose daughters didn’t last year and they’re already burnt out on it.

We will probably make a decision on it this week. I’m hoping we can figure out a way to politely decline the invitation.

It’s an unnatural motion for your elbow and shoulder. The speed at which your elbow is whipped to create movement and speed destroys a lot of arms

It was actually 62, her older sister that's in 12u is also throwing 60. Team from Georgia.

We run across 55-58 pretty commonly.

I recently learned that there's an entire set of parents who hold their kids back so they're bigger than everyone else in high school just for baseball. That's absolutely insane.

Are bats intentionally made to break these days? I hear kids having to buy 2-3 a year

Back in the day the whole team would use the same 3 or so bats all season

West Monroe was doing that in football in the 90s. That’s nothing new.

That's stretch, I figured he got tired of pulling on it and found a willing partner.

As most normal teens do.

Plus we don't have any homosexuals in my family

The only thing I know about travel ball is every single one of my buddies complains non stop about it, every weekend they will send pics at 8 pm on a Sunday captioned "I just want to go fricking home" or "Why did we have to win?"

Yet they will also post a pic of their kid with the caption "Love watching him do what he loves" on social media every weekend as well

I mock them ruthlessly for it

I coached my kid's T-ball team one year, and they had Coach Robichaux (RIP) from UL come talk to us during orientation. He talked about travel ball and how in Latin America they stick to the principle of practice often and have few games while travel ball is game after game with few practices and they aren't practicing out the bad habits and it's ruining players. It was a pretty interesting talk. He passed away not long after unfortunately.

I think there's a big difference between boys and girls travel ball. Parents on the boys teams hoping their son makes the pro's and is rolling in cash.

Parents on the girls teams are hoping someone pays for their daughters college education.
