I always thought it was reasonable to offer to at least split the check. I guess because I work a decent job, know what things cost, and it just seems like the "right" thing to do. Especially when we live in a day and age where in a well-adjusted couple both people are working in order to sustain a decent lifestyle. I don't see either or as feminist or anti-feminist (I hate that dumb arse logic).
I think most decent guys are raised to offer to pay for everything, because it's a thing that's been passed down from a time where men were the breadwinners 99% of the time and women were typically living with their parents and not working until marriage.
When actually dating beyond the first date, me and the SO tend to either split things or take turns paying.

Agreed. Once your in an established relationship. Splitting or taking turns paying is fine.

Sexist– It is 2016 so why the frick does the man need to pay for my dinner?
If I invite friends or a date out to lunch/dinner then I'm paying for theirs too. Male or female.
It doesn't mean they owe me a favor or that I'm implying they can't afford their own meal. It's called manners. Like holding a door open for someone.

I'm glad I don't have to date any more.
Me: Want to go somewhere tonight?
Her: No, let's stay home.
Me: Okay.

It's safe to assume that the guy will be paying for the first date. If your date offers to split it or whatever that is cool, but if you like the girl you should definitely pay. I don't think you will be sending a feminist signal so much as a signal that you are cheap by allowing her to pay on day 1. Honestly I have never experienced this being a real issue. But if she is demanding that you let her pay that should be a pretty big red flag that she is a psycho, the next course of action would be to let her pay and high tail it out of there baw.

If you invite me out, yes, I expect you to pay. However, I still always offer to pay. The reverse is also true. If I ask you out, you should expect that I pay.
But if I pay, you better put out.

what you described has nothing to do with manners.
Sure, if you invite a girl on a date then obviously the expectation is to pay which is pretty normal.
If you're asking your friends to get together for lunch, I've never in my life seen anyone under the age of 40 go into that situation expecting to pay for everyone unless it was really a special occasion.

Just let her pay and pay her back with sex.
Win, win, win.
Win, win, win.

Not me. My horrible eye disease of dry eyes can be cured with some Rohto eye drops or warm compresses. Or, you know, a good night's sleep.
