More of a loserish connotation if you ask me.
I hate it like I said. But people of all demographics play it. I wouldn't call it loserish, just dumb.

Meh. It was also just one park back then and like others stated, if you wanted to ride the rides, pay up buddy. They just price more on the front end instead of State Fair style.

The only thing stranger than the adults that love to go to Disney time after time is when you meet one of them and mention it. The mental gymnastics they pull to explain why it is OK are amazing. I love to prompt these folks and then sit back and listen.
I love Magic Kingdom and I dgaf if you like it or not.

Disney has become nothing but a money machine...
Look at Main Street in the Magic Kingdom... It's one huge gift shop...
I was pissed they got rid of all the old arcade games...

We just got back from 10 days of Food and Wine Festival fun. Had a great time. We will be back in the Spring for Flower and Garden. I never have felt the need to explain why we go .

I wonder how Disney will ever survive without your business. Pretty sure they are going to have to close the doors to the Magic Kingdom because of you.
Adults that are obsessed with going to a kids wonderland have issues

In 1983 (the first time I went) my dad said he paid $40.00 per person per ticket for a 3 day pass (2 adults 2 kids) to WDW. He did not take us to EC.

See the thing is, Disney is many things. One of those things is a "kids wonderland" but it's many other things that have nothing to do with kids or wonderland.

My parents only took me to Disney world once, I bet there are some people that get to go twice a year.....

quote:Took the kids there last year right when the Christmas decorations were put up. They made us exit Magic Kingdom early and the only way you could go back in was to have a special "Christmas at Disney" ticket. So, on top of the $125 ticket, you had to leave early and they still want another $75 out of you to come back in.
Disney has become nothing but a money machine...
That's to your point about them being greedy.

If it is what you life, god bless you. We all like different things. A friend of mine went to disney this week because his kids are on fall break..
He is more of an associate/friend than a friend, but years back they bought a Disney timeshare. I forgot the details, but I want to say that what they pay a year is worth 4 trips a year, you can go whenever you want AS LONG as there are available rooms or condos.. or whatever.
He & his wife are the "keeping up with the Jones's" type, but I have to think Disney makes a killing on those timeshares, because I don't think he and his family has been to Disney world 4 times a year since they bought the timeshare. One of the first times he planned on using it, he wanted to go at a certain time and when he called to reserve a room, they were booked so there is no telling how many timeshares they actually sell..
Then how many of those who buy timeshares actually go the max number of times a year, they are paying for? And like I said, Disney isn't my thing.. But who the frick would want to go to Disney 4 times a year, every year?
Im more of a gambling, drinking, rated R type fun than a ride rides, go see Mickey, rated G or PG type fun..

I’m not a DW hater at all but I was annoyed last time I went because it seemed like none of the ticket revenue had been put back into the park since my previous visit.

It doesn't work like that. It's a point based system. Your points do roll over and you can borrow points from the next year if you are short. If you buy into the dvc through resale and not directly through Disney it's not a bad deal. You get to stay at the deluxe resorts as well.

We missed the whole altercation by about 15 minutes. The bartenders were still chatting about it and there were several county LEO's still hanging around that you do not normally see.
