You really downplay that your friends company set a car’s wheel loose on the road because they are fricking stupid. They are lucky they didn’t hurt someone seriously.

I don’t, but I’m aware the human body and mind can be fragile, and that many injuries can be insidious. Life trauma involving car accidents is quite common and could effect the post-incident mental state. Moreover, he didn’t just feel the jolt of the tire, but likely the force of slamming on the brakes. People aren’t all fit and in the prime of life of health. People hauling things on public roads need to secure their loads properly. Don’t be negligent, don’t get sued.

How was it downplayed idiot?

Your friend needs to learn how to properly secure a load and not just believe the other party when they say "all they want is".

No mention of your friend’s workers being fricking idiots. No mention that it is really dangerous. No complaints about your friends company putting the public in danger with their being stupid. You are just complaining that this guy is being sued too much for the stupidity of his employees. You are complaining that it is essentially punitive.
I hope he does have to pay a bunch so that he makes sure not to do that shite again and really hurt someone.

Friend’s company = Riverside Towing? If so, I’m in favor of plaintiff.

Clearly none of the idiots posting about “unsecured loads” have any idea how a car hauler works or what a hub assembly failure looks like or how it can be completely unanticipated, dumb

Friends company was hauling a car and one of the wheels came off and hit another car putting a dent in it. No one wrecked, no one was hurt and the police made a report and the guy said he was perfectly fine he just wanted the dent fixed. My guy says no problem get an estimate and I’ll send you a check.
One week later he gets a call from the office’s of Gordon Mckernan saying the guy had late onset severe neck pain, insomnia and mental issues from the “jolt” of the tire hitting his vehicle.
The insurance company will probably write a 50k check to not defend the case.....
Your friends company shouldn’t have been negligent.
