The one good thing from this day 19 years ago was that it united everyone

This tragic day brought everyone together. You couldn't go a mile without seeing an American flag magnet on the back of a car. Sadly, we haven't seen this level of unity since.
Is it going to take another tragedy on this scale to unite the country? Or a war?

To me, the highlight was Pres. Bush telling all Americans to fight terrorism, shop at the Mall.

Dude, if 911 happened today a loud minority of the country would be cheering on the terrorists for their attack on capitalism.

probably
there was like 2 weeks where everyone was all kinda kumbaya in the beginning of COVID
that shite ended with the quickness though

You can't be united when about a quarter of the population wants to destroy this country and our way of life.

Probably not.
Too much internet & too much politics. People have forgotten what it’s like to be decent humans. Just look at some of the responses in threads like these today.

I saw a video of Americans chanting "death to America". I don't know if we are going to be united any time soon.

We were asked to flatten the curve. We did. Then the goalposts were moved.
That pretty much ended that.

We will never be unified again

No one needs to attack America. We're destroying ourselves from the inside. They just sit back and watch us burn our own cities

I don't know how much you've been keeping up but there hasn't been a war that united the country since WWII. The rest have done the opposite.

it ended well before that

We’ve reverted back to the 60’s where the only thing people want to fight about is racism and division instead of coming together. It’s saddening. 9/11 brought us all together. It shouldn’t take a disaster of historic proportions to make us love one another.

True Americans were and remain united. There is a subculture of people who live within the borders of this country but I do not consider them Americans.

I don't feel like it united the country very much at all. But it did get the crowd that hates this country to stfu for a little while.
As soon as "Islamaphobia" became a thing, they had their narrative to go on the attack again.

The ONLY thing that would possibly bring us together at this point would be an Adrian Veidt-level hoax.

I got ripped in another thread for saying this, but I couldn't care less: The dust from the towers hadn't even settled yet and the Democrats, the Left and the media were already blaming America for bringing this on ourselves. They hated America then, they hate America now - as evidenced by them trying to foment revolution in the streets.
Another thing that frosts my arse about 9/11 remembrances is how sanitized the media has made them. They'll mouth empty platitudes like "Never Forget!" or "We Stand United" or some oblique reference to the event like "...on that terrible day". But there's almost never any mention of what actually happened. If you didn't know any better, you might think a hurricane or earthquake flattened the WTC. Almost no mention that Muslim terrorists deliberately attacked and murdered thousands of American citizens on our soil.

Every year I’ve been here has been very special and everyone has seemed very United
Today I’ve noticed the same thing
We did our usual moments of silence on the floor And just speaking to a few of the older guys who were there that day, it’s pretty crazy to hear their stories.
We will never forget!

Barack Hussein Obama and his America hating operatives quickly destroyed any unity this country enjoyed after the 9/11 terrorist attack.
I will say without reservation, Barack Hussein Obama (and his pal Joe Biden) have contributed much to the violence carried out by Antifa / BLM terrorist.
It remains to be seen if America will throw off the yoke of terror these cockroaches are raining down on us.
Elections have consequences.
