The old, baldheaded black lady who yells at the sky (near Essen/Staring)

God damn that's got to be some amazing crank.

Maybe she is just mentally ill.

Maybe instead of running to the OT, you should try asking her about her day.

well is it essen or staring?

She doesn't speak anything that resembles, English, Jive, or Ebonical shite talk. That bald lady just mutters and yells. She doesn't talk to anyone, either. I've tried. It's to no avail.
I see her about once every 2 months. Someone on here will know who I am talking about.

I am sure he would get a reasonable response.

She floats from Albertson's on Essen down to near the Staring Motel and in between. Fuel Zone; car wash; that ugly arse Burger King; neighborhood behind Baskin Robbins.

As do I...she's not as easy to find, but once you see her, you just know. Always smoking a cig, drinking a tall boy, and talking to whoever listens -- rarely anyone. The guys at Fuel Zone chase her out and she just walks away without even acknowledging them. There's a crack house somewhere in the vicinity...she has company sometimes. She's always in a cheap dress and has no teeth.

Maybe she has schizophrenia
And a possible substance abuse problem
She needs antipsychotics more than anything

There is a black buy who wears an umbrella hat who hangs out in Canal in Nola who pretends he's some kind of street preacher. We should hook them up.
Seriously though, I read a nice story today about a guy who hung out on the same corner every day for two or three years. Some lady went and talked to him and found out his story. He was mental and his mom had left him on that corner and he was always there waiting for her to return.
The lady ended up helping him find mental help. The community raised some money to help him too and he now has a job and has eventually been able to meet back up with his mom. Every now and then it's good to read stories like that.

I saw her pull her dress up last week next to the Albertsons on Essen. Like she felt an itch or something and thought "hmm, what's that?" And just flung the dress up to check. I'm not sure if I saw vag, I jerked my head the other way so fast it was just a dark brown blur.

do you walk down staring or something? how the hell do you know what she says? I drive no less than 45 mph down any part of staring if I can help it
really the speed limit on staring should be like 100 mph since it's a shithole

CSB. For real. I asked just 20 minutes ago at Fuel Zone and "Sam (Mexican guy behind counter) and Kevin (The Syrian owner)" both told me that she's been out there for years and that she is LOST...not schizo...not drunk...just too far-gone from the rock and the lifestyle. Kevin said she was from NOLA and had been doing drugs for 45 years (from what he understood). BUT it was the crack epidemic of '85-'00 that REALLY, REALLY got her. He has not been at Fuel Zone that long, but his family has owned the (now) Valero on College and they once saw her there, too.
Staring/Essen/Highland has some wonderful places...one of the greatest Rite-Aid pharmacies in the state; a terrific string of liquor and gas stores (that do invite some trouble; of course), George's and Crawford's and a couple of other great restaurants...but some of the worst drug addicts and street addicts live along this same route that I once raised a family.
Recall summer of 2015? The once before the cop shootings that occurred the summer after? Two whores had been getting high and doing "favors" at the Staring Motel and instead of being compensated, they were left dead in a car that was located on Boone -- near about 4 other side streets. NO clues about who killed them to this day as they were both living in Dallas (one of the girls had a minor connection to BR).
Fuel Zone shooting of 2012? Some thug with a shotgun tries to kill from across the street? Who would think anyone over there would have beef? Also, an assault with rape and a 2nd degree murder in that horrific Mayfair subdivision off of Staring...BR became like Shreveport. Crime was now, after 2005, anywhere and everywhere at any time.
I hope Gravy's fat, racist arse read this. BR was always the crown jewel of LA. It was not the huge and ofetn fun that the media circus of NOLA was; it was not the Texas hick-hot bed of nothing much that Shreveport was and still is; it was not the overtly Cajun Zydeco living cliche' of Lafayette; it was not boredom and destroyed downtown madness like Alexandria and Monroe "grew" to be. No, BR became a confounding and extraordinary city that represented the educated, the wealthy and middle class, a solid BLACK class of people, and a thriving working-class industry. It was very cool. Jones Creek, Sherwood, Bluebonnet, Siegen...man talk about streets with on identity YET -- in the mid 1990's anyway.
That's right in 1995, LSU was back in football and thriving in baseball; crime only occurred on the north side and some places near "the bottoms"; Prairieville maybe had a dozen houses. Baton Roue was IT. I know, I know...now, it's as if that's the dumbest thinking ever. It was real, though. I was here for it, for college. Gravy and other racists must blame the city's decline on the likes of George Bush, Thomas Ed McHugh, Doug Moreau, Pat Screen, and even Kip Holden. Does Gravy recall public schools like his beloved Northeast and his daughter's Westdale Middle (along with Belaire, Tara, McKinley, and Lee) receiving as nay as 700 kids who had NO paperwork because ut was all "lost on the hurricane"? Yes, that hurricane destroyed Baton Rouge's chances, as it likewise decimated the youth -- thanks to the carefree and erratically disinterested urban Nola schools. Sure...some bright spot here and there, but mostly a city that has now culturally diffused itself into some sort of acceptable purgatory for Louisiana kids who want to be something other than stats, athletes, rappers, or addicts.
So I have rambled, but in trivializing this bald, black and crazy lady, I wonder what she recalls of BR. What does Gravy recall before "the storm"? Does HE even know this woman? He reads this stuff. Where are you tonight? Can you give the racists, whites a break, Gravy? How about just some simple reflection?
