So you gave it to late stage patients? Everyone knows that is a struggle. Means nothing for when doctors are saying it helps.

We gave it to every single high risk patient immediately upon testing positive
We need to move on from this drug. It shouldnt be banned, but it isnt close to the answer either

Is anyone gonna bother to point out that they reversed their decision today? From OP's link:
The State Pharmacy Board has reversed its stance on using hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.
“As a result of the feedback received by the medical and patient community and at the request of Governor DeWine, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy has withdrawn proposed rule 4729:5-5-21 of the Administrative Code,” a release said. “Therefore, prohibitions on the prescribing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in Ohio for the treatment of COVID-19 will not take effect at this time.”

So there is your study on why hcq is bad.

out of 2,000 patients that represent the demographics of society, 1,990 will survive without any real treatment at all
So, its almost impossible to find a drug and claim it "works"

I'm just saying that was the big study showing it was killing people.
Come on man, so if I give hcq to 70 patients that all are obese and 40% of them died. Then gave 50 patients a placebo where 5 are obese and only 10% die.
How is that showing that hcq DOESNT work?
And why would you restrict doctors from using it?
I don't study medicine, but I'm assuming lots of things went to trial and have been used to treat everything from cancer to jock itch that works on some people and not on others.
It's why I can have prostate cancer and have 3 doctors give me 3 different treatments.

I mean, use some common sense. why in the world would a state ban a drug that might help? even if it is only 50% effective, it would help people.
chemotherapy isnt 100% effective and can make people really sick. they should ban that treatment too

The main reason being it would create shortages for people who actually need it. Right now it seems like we’ve just got a lot of heresay and feels on the effectiveness of HCQ and that’s not how modern medicine works. And if the patient had a negative effect to the HCQ I’m assuming it could open them up to lawsuits which is dumb but hey it’s also America. And I’d hope the manufacturer’s are vastly ramping up production but who knows.
I don’t think it should be banned though fwiw
