I received a private message to stop military bashing on the Rant. I'll have to sit this one out.

Also, a friend of mine was dating a SEAL that moved down here to train the Boat guys. Dude was legit crazy. After they broke up he stalked the shite out of her. A SEAL is a very good stalker. Some of those stories are borderline unbelievable!

I think I'm friends with the stalker...

I'm thinking this may be a bit of a stretch.

My former boss was a military academy grad and football player, subsequently went into the rangers then was involved in a helo crash later and medically retired. Super great guy. Tremendous leader but every once in awhile, he would tell a story. Usually something training related, etc., but he is a baaad arse. No desire to F with him. Good to have as a friend.

My one encounter with Seals I will never forget. i was on a delta flight to Atlanta when we landed, the captain asked that all passengers remain in their seats. The aircraft was carrying the body of a deceased Navy Seal who was KIA. All remained quiet and still while 2 Navy seals onboard escorted the coffin onward. Everybody got off that airplane quiet as a church mouse. Interestingly the captain instructed the pax on the right side of the airplane to lower their window shades so as to not watch the removal of the coffin from the aircraft. Not sure why, but I at least complied.

I know two, one of which has already been mentioned in this thread, I also know the one from the north shore who washed out of buds and the one that got kicked out for fighting the instructor.

Cousin is in MARSOC (marine special ops unit). Heard some stories bout SEALS and some of his own. Just a different breed I guess. He may honestly be one of the nicest people I ever met and is a great father. But to know some of the crap he has seen and been apart of blows my mind. Needless to say he is someone I try to stay on their good side.

I have the same kind of phone and the same kind of pistol the seals use. Does that count?

Seals from what I understand are trained to survive torture

So is every pilot in every branch of service. It is called SERE. I believe SEALS are the best at what they do but what they do involves almost no unarmed combat. It would be a waste of tax dollars and time to spend excessive amounts of time having them learn ju jitsu or boxing. It takes enormous amounts of training and time to develop the muscle memory to be proficient at any martial art and that is time they don't have. I believe a SEAL would whip almost any normal fat Americans arse simply because they are in great shape and are ultra type A personality people. If you put a SEAL in the ring with Jon Jones the SEAL would be knocked out in under 30 seconds.

Every Aircrewman is sent through SERE, doesn't have to be just pilots.

A good friend of mine is in the special forces. I don't have any good stories because he's not allowed to talk about it.

I do enjoy the random visits from the FBI that I've had to "answer a few questions" when he is working on his security clearances though.

There's a good chance I know you then. Please verify it's the same guy with the letter of said SEALS first name.

The reason why alot of guys do this on their own time. Not to sure about what goes down on the East Coast, but lots of Sailors and Marines train in jits schools in LA and San Diego.
