I have always preferred the Big Johns in Winnsboro over Ferriday. The Ferriday location changed names for a little while but may be back. It is good but for some reason I always thought Winnsboro was a little better. I have never tried the one in Jonesboro.

Yet south la is the Mecca of the world?

I've lived in both places. Aside from the religion the shifts in population that Shreveport snd monroe has experienced is the same that Baton Rouge has faced as well.

i used to get food from hardees then wander down to the dark room with the projection TV and watch MTV videos.

Elbow room.
They had some Klipsch Cornwalls in there that would blast. Not sure what amplification they used but you sure could hear the tape hiss on those MTV quad cart video cart machines and they used Dolby A.

Tigerfoot(S) I gotta politely disagree w/ you. Its done bro. If the Monroe Moses (Jamie Mayo) would lead HIS peoples out & back to Richwood I'd visit but for now I'd never go back to MunnRow.

My 3 favorite days in December were always:

- Christmas Eve with the grandparents on South Grand

- Christmas day and going outside after opening presents and every kid in the neighborhood was also outside showing off their presents

- day after Christmas Howard Griffin half price sale where I spent every single penny I got for Christmas

My parents moved off Ticheli rd in 69, heading to Lakeshore, yeah it is a little different but it has been a slow migration. Sterlington is the new Lakeshore Swartz for those that didn’t march west.

It’s still made up of very laid back good folks

This is early 90's Monroe for a NLU student. However you left out Sal's, especially the Thursday night beer bust.

You can also spot somebody from the 80's era when they mention Private Eyes.

What was the tattoo parlor on the bayou back in the 1970s that was in the same parking lot as Waterfront is now? Right at the light.

It started when the midget gal and her husband bought the joint from Mr. Ray. All of the old staff left and started a coup called the Magic Grill once the Dwarf Era commenced. The Dwarf Era was in fact the demise of Pege's.
