Not as awesome as the Whole Foods bar in their store, but still pretty cool to have $4 beers!

Probably watching TV while wife shops. You should see the kroger bar on Saturdays or Sundays in the fall

Was gonna post this. Schwegmann's on Gentilly Road had a lunch counter, a bar and one of the best sporting goods sections in the city right up front. Men never had to enter the store proper, just wait for the wives to finish "making groceries".

No shite. I used to hear the old guys talk about how nice it was to go shopping with their wives and hang out with the other men drinking in the store

The Schwegmann's by our house in the 70's and 80's had a full bar and you could also grab a po-boy and oysters on the half-shell.
