All they really needed to do was put a traffic light at the truck stops and sync the i12 & club deluxe lights so that the rigs could get back to the interstate without much of a problem - instead they chose this and virtually nobody knows how to drive them, and they didn't make 'em wide enough for an 18 wheeler to stay in one lane while taking the tight turns.

It hurts my head how much you don't understand what you're talking about.

If you can't drive a roundabout, turn your fricking driver license back over to the DMV.

It's an absolute clusterfrick. 1. The idiots don't know how they work, and 2. They're not big enough for the 18-wheelers to drive around. I've witnessed several incidents of the trucks hitting the curbs and nearly tipping over. I predict a number of wrecks in the near future once construction is fully completed.

The inner lane of the roundabout is supposed to make the circle and the outer lane is supposed to go straight. However, the trucks can't make the turn while in the inner lane so they're in the outer lane trying to make the circle. It's fricking stupid. In the past I was constantly using that exit to go to Target, Academy, etc. Now I just take I-55S to Morrison and come in the back way

roundabouts are fricking dumb as shite

They're also more efficient than four way stops. But you have to have a little common sense and courtesy to be able to use them. Oh the humanity, amirite?

Like someone mentioned, they're not finished. I'll bet money the roundabouts work MUCH better than the shitshow that intersection was before... even with the dumbass drivers.

So, come back a few months after the job is completely finished and eat crow, aight.

I've been waiting for a 18 wheeler to eat it, surprised it hasn't happened yet. I thought it had it 2 weeks ago though, a car hauler fully loaded was on the south side and hit the curb. That dude was seriously lucky as that track was swaying like crazy back and forth.

It is a giant cluaterfrick, I work by the mall sometimes and don't even go near that crap to go home. I go through Hammond to the airport road exit to avoid that dumb shite.

Listen you shitasses, I grew up in cenla, home of the most awesome round about in Louisiana-the traffic circle. So rest assured I can use one.

And to the gentleman who called me a dumbass, I'm seeing the most stupidity in the round about that IS AND HAS BEEN completed. The one going towards north oaks has been done for a while. The natives have had months to practice their skills on that one and they still fail. Every. Single. Time.

Right, because I don't understand anything about 18 wheelers and two of the most popular chains of truck stops for nationwide fleets to use, right?

I love roundabouts. Traffic constantly moves, except for the occasional dumb frick that doesn't know how to use them. People that dislike roundabouts must live to sit at traffic lights.

No. You think throwing up more traffic lights at the truck stops and "syncing the lights" will fix the problem = you don't know what you're talking about.

The people arguing that roundabouts are great must have missed the part where I indicated the specific ones in Hammond. No one said they were all bad. But the locations of these with regard to the amount of 18 wheelers using them coupled with the ignorance of Hammond drivers to properly negotiate them is really dumb.

Give it a couple weeks once they're all open.. a big rig will tip over on a scared stupid Kia driver trying to use the yield sign as a complete stop sign.

A traffic circle is not a roundabout... just so you don't come off as a dumbass in the future.

A truck is not going to flip over going through a roundabout.

Two busiest fuel stations in hammond that generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in fuel for 18 wheelers that have constant traffic problems - seems like helping them out a bit to have a clear path to get back to i12 without the idiot drivers of louisiana getting in their way is the reasonable solution. Instead the put up 3 obstacles for them to drive next to idiots that don't understand that the rear of the trailer is going to move into the left lane when they're going around.

Or they could have just made traffic stop for 30 seconds so a couple of trucks could get out and go directly to i12.

I'm the idiot.
