Sure the 33K Kia Stinger looks like a 90K Mercedes Benz. Now try getting laid because you own one.

If it hasn't already been mentioned. The Stinger has a V8 attached to a true manual gearbox, and you can turn the traction control completely off.
Might not have been mentioned because it isn't accurate. As I said above the top engine is a 3.3L twin turbo 6 and the only gear box is an 8 speed slushbox.

If Randy Pobst has good things to say about it, that means it's good.
MotorTrend Ignition
It's an affordable RWD sedan. That alone makes it worth a look.

Out of curiosity what do you drive?

Yeah, I'm not sure how I misremembered Randy Propst's review of it so badly.
I knew it was a V6, that I have no excuse on. I just plain fricked up.
I could have sworn he said it had an optional manual, but rewatching the video, he doesnt. I think when he said he wishes it had a manual, I wasn't paying close enough attention the first time around and thought he said it sis.
Only thing I remembered correctly was that it was rear wheel drive. Though AWD is optional.

Anyone that laughs at KIA doesn't know how the game is played.
They have put in time and worked their way up.
Honda and Toyota did the same.
These Korean guys are making pretty cars and inching up.

Anyone comparing this cheesy POS to a Bimmer (that's how you actually spell that btw) has never owned one

Looks like a BMW 5 series with the back end of a Ford Taurus

The one Infiniti that every remotely interested me they decided not to build. If they had built the Q50 Eau Rouge I would have scurried down to the dealership to get on the list. I loved my E60 M5 but sold it before the warranty ended, the S85 had seen so much time at 8,000 rpm I knew it was going to grenade soon and the Eau Rouge would likely have been a decent impersonation of the V10 M5.

8 speed tranny.
They have a base twin turbo 2L with 255hp 260p/ft and a 3.3L twin turbo w/ 365/376.
I am certain I saw on the placard next to the vehicle that it comes equipped with a 10-speed, but the KIA website says it's an 8. C'est la vie.
Whether or not it can be shifted into manual mode like KIA's other vehicles, I do not know, but the picture of the steering wheel on the KIA website shows their version of paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Already said earlier on page 2.

People compare 0-60 times, tech features, mpg...and say they are basically equal. The reality is those vehicles handle terribly and if you actually try to use the power they are horrible to drive. It is what it is, people DGAF.
My 2010 C300 is the best driving car Ive ever been in. Surprisingly, my mothers 2013 Mazda 6 was my #2.

It does not have a true manual mode (no Kia I am aware of does and actually very few torque converter automatics have a true manual mode anyway. When you use the paddles it switches to a semi-manual mode for a period of time then reverts to auto. While Pobst in his test drive for MT talks about the manual mode late in the segment if you actually watch his lap at the track he never shifts it manually.

While the W204 has a decent chassis you need to widen your horizons if you desire a true drivers car.

Real petrol heads aren't badge whores.
Though you quoted the wrong person the only comparison made was it looked like a "Beamer" and I can see a little of the Kidney grilles and the side view character lines. But I see Volvo in the trunk transition and a lot of other cars too. Yes, a Beamer is a BMW with 2 wheels.
Interesting, Randy Pobst made some favorable comparisons to BMW when driving the Stinger but Pobst doesn't know much about BMWs anyway. On a side note a comparable BMW will probably be 20k more out the door.
The Hyundai/Kia K900 chassis is actually pretty good.

What's the price tag, and is Kia a solid brand? I'm in the market for a new car and it'll be a couple months before I can realistically get one.
