As a native Berrian and early adopter of the New Iberia Haircut, I think your post illustrates a history and evolution of coif that inspired the true creator of the New Iberia Haircut.
The New Iberia Haircut was created in around 1989/1990 by Suzie at Vice's Barbershop in Torriddo Village (a marvel of tasteful architecture, that is just now being restored to its original glory by a local investor).
There was a line out the door to see her, while old man Vice and his son got the leftovers and those who didn't want to wait for the true artisan, Suzie.
She should be celebrated as a tastemaker & visionary!!
