I love Popeye's, but the service at most of them is just so really bad. I have given up on them. I like KFC chicken better anyway, but Popeye has better sides.

agreed...popeyes is so inconsistent that I don't even bother any more...I used to order exactly the same thing every time I went and it was almost never the same price as the time before.

Mama's Tasty Foods on Louisiana Avenue was the best. I don't think they reopened after Katrina

There is absolutely no reason to go to KFC over Popeyes

I've found the key to good Popeye's is knowing when the store's frying oil is changed (usually weekly) and going the day of the fresh oil.

I only go about twice a year now, decades ago it was a regular stop for me.
Three piece white spicy, Cajun rice, breast substitution.

KFC is big in Japan, they call it "ken-TUK-kee". The quality of Japanese KFC food is spot-on.

I try to go to a KFC when I internationally travel just to see the differences.

Meh, that depends. Fast food places have high turnover, so if you have one of each you might want to go to the one that's currently "up" in terms of staffing.

Plus you might want to get opponent-themed food when we have a game against Kentucky.

Here where I live, The KFC service is usually really good and friendly too,and I like their chicken.

Popeye's service is slow and unfriendly, like I said I am finished with them. I'm sure it doesn't matter to them.

There's a Popeye's in one of the concourses at ATL where the service was amazingly good. That was about a year ago.

Here almost all the KFCs are a franchise owned by the same family, I have really never gotten bad service in one of their places. They run a pretty tight ship.

When I was a kid long time ago. you could order gizzards that were pressure cooked with the Colonel's original recipe.... they were freaking awesome. Wish they still had 'em.
