Desantis is just another politician (like Donald turned out to be) but he’s got by far a better chance of winning in ‘24 than if Trump runs again and gets the nomination. Because of just how sh!tty the Biden/Harris duo turned out to be unless something drastically changes - which I highly doubt it will, look at the SC nominee going through - it’s the Republicans to lose, which is what they do if Trump decides he has to run again and the MAGA crowd hasn’t shaken the grip by then.

Todd Herman exposed what the GOP is all about a couple of years ago. Their biggest fear is winning because they then can no longer campaign on a platform of "we can do a better job". They would rather lose and say, "well, we tried" than actually have to be held accountable for their promises if they win.
You don't seriously think someone like McConnell would publicly say he wouldn't vote to confirm if he didn't know Jackson had the votes.
Dennis Haskins, Trent Lott, John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy...all useless pieces of shite who betray their own voters then get mad and indignant when those voters call them out.
