Therein lies the answer...just stop playing it at sporting events outside the Olympics.
That seems like total capitulation to me. Not a compromise.

Oh, so you think that removing the anthem will take the politics out of it?
Yes...after awhile it will just be normal to not have the national anthem. No opportunity for SJW protest and the game can just get started.

What I love is that it's the FRICKIN LAW to stand and put your hand over your heart for the anthem.
Is that ever enforced? No. But it's the law.
Wouldn't that be some shite if the US actually put people in jail for not saluting the flag? People always talk about it being "free speech", but is it free speech if you're breaking the law?
Yes, and no, at least the way you understand it. I am assuming you are referring to Title 36 US Code. This like Title 4 US Code (the "Flag Code") is whats called advisory code and is not part of the criminal statutes. Title 36 like Title 4 is simply meant to provide a standard by which the flag and other national observances and ceremonies are to be conducted. There are no civil or criminal penalties associated with these code sections so one can legally raise the middle finger during the anthem or dip the flag when Kim K. walks by if the feel like it without suffering the slings and arrows of the judicial system.
I have never practiced in LA so it is possible there is a state or municipality law but no federal one nor one in the states I am licensed in and I am too lazy to do a Westlaw search to verify.

Not really...capitulation would be some sort of reparations or something I mean these people don't want an answer they just want to complain.

Most people aren't offended. They're just annoyed as frick. I for one am done with the NFL. The product is completely subpar and the politics makes the decent parts unwatchable.

Not offended, just annoyed.
1. Because it's the wrong forum.
2. Because it's perpetuating a false narrative.

Why is everyone offended?
Ask those who have served in the Military.
Why is the National Anthem played before events?
To honor those who have served/protected this country so SOB's have the luxury of freedom of speech.

So we have to give up hearing the National Anthem, something the vast majority of us love, and they have to give up, what, acting like an arse?
Posted on 9/24/17 at 6:40 pm to northshorebamaman
You don't give up hearing it...we hear it all the time. It just really doesn't have to be played at every single sporting event. Why does it?

Because most people want it. Why have sporting events at all? Because people want it. You want us to give it up because a handful of idiots don't. I don't agree.

I don't like the kneeling either I find it annoying and out of place and unnecessary but nothing is going to stop them from doing it until they just get bored of it. Meanwhile people will tune out and find something else to watch.
Posted on 9/24/17 at 6:47 pm to Twain
Mostly it is the disrespect to the men who died defending our freedom.

And that's fine with me if the alternative is shitcanning the Anthem.

The NFL should just not play it at all since the song and flag are so offensive to them according to their shithead commish
Posted on 9/24/17 at 6:57 pm to Twain
Ask Pat Tillman what he thinks
Posted on 9/24/17 at 7:10 pm to Twain

Trump triggered the living frick out of the progcucks today.
I wish a team's owner/coaches would stand up and have serious shownconsequences for kneeling or standing during the anthem, as it is a literal distraction from the team.

Oh look.. another anthem thread.
I am so tired about people pretending to give a frick about the anthem and what people do during it.
As long as these fricking bonehead neanderthals run fast, catch the ball, and cause irreversible brain damage to each other, who gives a frick? Their job is to entertain me, not to stand with the hands over their hearts.
