Why hasn't this come out yet?
Are the news agencies tip toeing around it for some reason?
Seems pretty serious given the fact that Sharon supposedly asked Lt. Col. Murphy J. Paul Jr. directly to put his name into the hat for chief.

A familiar name has surfaced as one of a dozen applicants to be the next Baton Rouge Chief of Police, according to a story in today’s (Friday, Sept. 1) Baton Rouge Advocate (Click HERE for story).
Lt. Col. Murphy J. Paul Jr., who holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Loyola University, currently serves as deputy superintendent of the Bureau of Investigations for Louisiana State Police (LSP). His current salary at LSP is $150,750 per year.
Besides being the recipient of several commendations and awards during LSP, he also came under scrutiny last February when it was revealed that he was among 15 or so guests who traveled to San Diego to witness then State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonson receive a national award.
HERE is the link to LouisianaVoice’s story about that trip, which ultimately led to the resignation of Edmonson after nine years as Louisiana’s top cop.
Paul was photographed with his girlfriend, Lorre Claiborne, at a party during that San Diego trip. Claiborne is employed as a State Fire Marshal captain at a salary of $52,500.

It's widely known. IDK if he was one of those that went on the side trip with the other officers which is what most of the hoopla has been about.

What do you really expect from Broome? She’s not gonna choose the best qualified candidate. She will choose someone who supports her perverted idea of police “reform.” Meanwhile the body count continues to rise and Baton Rouge makes the list of most dangerous cities in America.

The entourage driving a State Police SUV from Baton Rouge to San Diego was made up of Lt. Rodney Hyatt, Senior Trooper Thurman Miller, Trooper Alexandr Nezgodinsky and Maj. Derrell Williams, the head of the Internal Affairs Division. Hyatt charged for 63 hours of overtime that he attributed in accounting records to an "IACP special detail." Nezgodinsky billed 42 hours of overtime for the week, while Miller charged 54 hours. Williams took just 16 hours of comp time for the weekend days he spent at the conference. The troopers left Baton Rouge on Oct. 10, four days before the start of the conference, driving 12 hours a day. By the second evening, they had reached the Grand Canyon, where they checked into a Holiday Inn Express that charged more than $250 a night per room. Rather than driving about 330 miles from there to San Diego, they took a significant detour to Las Vegas and, the following night, checked into two suites at the Palazzo resort and casino in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas stay cost more than $500 in taxpayer dollars, counting resort fees, according to State Police records.

They are down to just 7 applicants. Only 2 are qualified. Neither will be chosen. This is all for show.
When Carl was picked, they had over 50 men and women to choose from. And they were from all over the country. Yet somehow, Broome crawfished on her national search promise citing some made-up hurdle.

She’s also about to lose grant money due to how she went about getting funding for the body cams, unless I’m mistaken.
BUT BUT BUT 80 NEW POLICE UNITS ARE GOING TO BOOST MORALE!!!

This will not be good for Broome because any little hiccup this guy has, not only will BRPD will be crucified, so will she for hiring yet another bust that wasn't properly vetted and this one will have civil service protection and the city is stuck with him.
She won't be the one who makes the ultimate decision so she can have plausible deniability if shite goes south.

Only a few have actual leadership experience along with the respect of peers and organizations outside of the BRPD that can be essential to partnering and tackling a growing crime problem. And of those few, on 2 have the temperament to actually be a strong enough head to do what needs to be done to make the city a safer place. JMHO. The rest just want a paycheck with the pride of the office and will do whatever the mayor wants.

Are we yet at the point where it's a known default that the people she picks are the worst possible choices?
