But you know, 800 million. Might as well go waste all my disposable income on something I will never win.
If an occasional $2-100 actual depletes your disposable income in any significant way, you are bad at life.

The lottery represents one of the very few moral uncertainties I have.
FIrst - I think it is an abomination - especially if the government actively promotes it.
However - I do love when stupid people pay taxes voluntarily

Now THERE is an idea I hadn't thought of!!

probably don't have a lot of disposable income if shelling out $2 for a ticket puts a dent in your wallet.

The worst part is the poors taking forever to check out because they need to get fifty tickets.

You only have $2 of disposable income? You have bigger problems than people playing the lottery then.

We're all going to really regret not having that 2 bucks compunded after 30 years.

Also, a master of probability should probably realize that the chances of winning are a lot less than 1 in howevermanymillion.
It's not 800 million or bust.
It's not 800 million or bust.

yeah i just ran it through a calculator. $30 at 10% APR over 30 years is $523.48

If $2 is putting you in a bind, there isn't much I can tell you.

Don't forget inflation. $500 in 30 years could be anywhere from $50 to $200 in todays money.
